Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, high-performance backend services for a multi-modal content recommendation system that powers the Yahoo homepage

• Architect and build end-to-end features across data pipelines and online serving in GCP

• Drive technical excellence for the News Ranking system by participating in regular on-call & improving team’s operational rigor

• Mentor and guide engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation

Qualifications

We are building a team with expertise across backend engineering, machine learning engineering and data engineering to enable us to deliver end-to-end product solutions. We encourage you to apply if you are excited to work on a “full-stack” ML engineering team. 

• 5+ years of software development experience in a fast paced tech environment

• Strong programming skills for hands-on IC work; previous working experience in Python

• Experience working in Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

• Experience using and improving CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions

Nice to Have

• Experience working on Ranking, Recommendation or Search systems.

The compensation for this position ranges from $120,750.00 - $251,250.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
