Senior Associate – Financial Services Compliance and Internal Audit (Temporary Opportunity)

Position Summary:
RSM is seeking a senior associate for a temporary opportunity within our financial services consulting practice, specializing in compliance and internal auditing. This role supports community and mid-market banks with regulatory compliance and internal audit execution. The focus is on Reg A–Z compliance, including lending, deposit operations, and servicing, not AML. The opportunity is remote, with some travel based on client needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead compliance internal audits for financial institution operations (lending, deposits, servicing)
- Conduct testing and evaluations related to Reg A–Z compliance (e.g., Reg B, C, Z, X, DD, E, etc.)
- Assess internal controls for effectiveness and recommend improvements
- Draft audit findings and reports for client stakeholders
- Manage multiple client engagements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Supervise and mentor junior team members
- Stay current on regulatory changes impacting financial institutions
Qualification
- 5+ years of relevant experience in regulatory compliance, internal audi, andt second-line compliance monitoring (non-AML)
- In-depth knowledge of Reg A–Z regulations and banking operations
- Strong communication and client management skills
- Professional certifications (CPA, CIA, CRCM) preferred or in progress
- Comfortable working remotely with occasional travel

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
