Within the FX (Financial Experience) Value Stream, the NYLIS Professional Team translates enterprise strategy into tools and insights that enhance the client and advisor experience. This includes advancing protection-powered growth and integrating life insurance into holistic planning. This role supports the effectiveness of New York Life's career agency distribution system by enabling agents to deliver more comprehensive, advice-driven solutions.
The Senior Associate, Advanced Planning Internal Technical Consultant supports Advanced Planning Consultants and NYLIS Professional subscribers with complex, high-value life insurance cases. The role combines case consultation, technical analysis, and illustration support, while helping position life insurance within broader client strategies and aligning field execution with enterprise priorities.

Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $90,000-$128,500
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.

What You'll Do:
- Partner with agents and consultants to analyze complex cases and identify planning opportunities
- Integrate life insurance into estate, business, and retirement strategies to support holistic client outcomes
- Support case design and illustration development using NYL systems and tools
- Provide technical guidance on life insurance planning, including tax implications and implementation strategies
- Collaborate with Life Product and Advanced Planning Consultants to support large case development
- Contribute feedback to the FX value stream to enhance planning tools, solutions, and capabilities
- Track case activity and identify trends to improve planning effectiveness and results
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's degree required
- 5-7 years of experience in insurance, financial services, or advanced markets
- Prior insurance or investment sales experience preferred
- Life/Health and FINRA Series 6 & 63 licenses preferred
- Strong knowledge of life insurance products and advanced planning strategies (e.g., split dollar, buy-sell, trust-based planning)
- Understanding of income and estate tax implications of insurance planning
- Ability to apply life insurance within broader, holistic financial planning contexts
- Proficiency with illustration platforms and planning tools
- Strong communication, analytical, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
