Provides leadership, influence, and mentoring across matrixed, cross‑functional engineering organizations and may participate in cross‑company initiatives.

Description Responsibilities

  • Provide technical coordination and program leadership for end‑to‑end execution of Slingshot switch and NIC ASIC programs, spanning architecture alignment, design, verification, validation, bring‑up, and production readiness.

  • Develop and drive integrated execution plans, including schedules, critical deliverables, budgets, and resource allocation for complex Slingshot silicon programs.

  • Track execution progress, risks, dependencies, and mitigation or recovery plans across design, verification, physical implementation, and manufacturing readiness.

  • Serve as a primary interface between silicon engineering, system architecture, hardware, firmware, software, validation, operations, and the production supply chain to ensure program‑wide dependencies and deliverables are aligned and available.

  • Communicate program status, issues, risks, and escalation plans to senior leadership and key stakeholders, providing clear, data‑driven assessments and recommendations.

  • Manage internal and external development partners, including design services, IP vendors, foundries, and packaging partners, ensuring alignment with Slingshot product roadmaps and execution expectations.

  • Drive alignment between business demand, design quality (verification and validation requirements), performance targets, and partner constraints typical of high‑performance networking and HPC products.

  • Lead execution through manufacturing milestones, including tape‑out readiness, silicon bring‑up, yield learning, and production ramp.

  • Provide guidance and mentoring to less‑experienced program managers and engineers, promoting best practices for execution of large‑scale silicon programs.

Education and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.

  • PMP / PMI certification preferred.

  • Typically 6–10+ years of experience managing complex ASIC or VLSI development programs.

  • Demonstrated hands‑on experience with ASIC or VLSI design and physical implementation processes.

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Strong, practical understanding of ASIC design flows and sign‑off criteria.

  • Extensive experience using project and program planning tools to create, manage, and track execution of complex programs.

  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and risk‑management skills.

  • Demonstrated business acumen and successful experience managing all aspects of programs, including communication with stakeholders and leadership of matrixed teams.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly to senior leadership and external partners.

  • Experience driving execution planning artifacts (integrated schedules, dependency tracking, working spreadsheets) used to manage complex silicon programs end‑to‑end.

Preferred (Slingshot / HPC Focus)

  • Experience delivering ASICs or products for high‑performance computing (HPC) and/or high‑performance networking environments.

  • Familiarity with large‑scale switch ASICs and/or high‑performance NIC designs.

  • Working knowledge of high‑speed networking technologies and protocols such as Ethernet (including high‑speed variants), PCIe, CXL, RDMA, and related interconnect semantics used in HPC and AI clusters.

  • Familiarity with Ultra Ethernet and the Ultra Ethernet Consortium (UEC), including next‑generation Ethernet semantics optimized for HPC and AI scale‑out workloads.

  • Experience coordinating silicon programs that integrate tightly with system‑level hardware, firmware, and software stacks.

  • Understanding of performance, latency, bandwidth, and reliability requirements for large‑scale HPC and AI networking fabrics.
