📍Location
We’re fully remote and welcome candidates from anywhere in the US! We have all-company offsites a few times a year where we fly the whole team out to meet in person, build stronger relationships, kick off important projects, and have fun!

💼 Job Summary
We’re seeking a Senior AI Engineer to join our team and lead the next chapter of AI at Cortex. As a Senior AI Engineer, you will partner with our CEO and CTO on high-impact, high-visibility projects that are critical to our long-term strategy. This is a foundational role at the intersection of software engineering and ML, with a focus on shipping performant AI products.
💻 Responsibilities
- Build production-ready AI applications and LLM-powered features on top of our product
- Collaborate closely with our AI + Data team to help build agentic capabilities for our IDP
- Work with customers to understand their AI needs and build developer experiences powered by LLMs.
- Experiment and evaluate open-source models to prototype new use cases and translate learnings into production systems
✔️Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of product-focused engineering experience
- Proven experience building and shipping LLM applications or AI-powered products
- Experience with modern AI tools (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Hugging Face, LangChain, RAG, vector DBs, etc.).
- Familiarity with production-grade AI patterns (e.g. fine-tuning models, model evaluations, observability etc.)
- Side projects and personal experimentation with AI models or tools are a must.

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The base pay for this role starts between $200,000 and $250,000. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role is eligible for equity and benefits.
