The Role
The Senior Accountant will be an integral member of the accounting team. This role is responsible for driving efficiencies and improvements within our processes and systems, providing support on strategic initiatives, and owning certain accounting areas in conjunction with the month-end close. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded performer who thrives in a fast-paced and demanding environment, has a strong accounting background, embraces a collaborative work style, but can work independently and possesses a customer and operations focus. The Senior Accountant will report into the Senior Accounting Manager.
Responsibilities
- Ensure timely execution and review of month-end close activities including preparation of journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, and flux analysis
- Responsible for general ledger accounting for prepaids, accrued expenses, fixed assets and payroll related accounts
- Assist Senior Accounting Manager & Controller with technical accounting topics and workstreams including lease accounting, equity compensation and business combinations.
- Provide clear and concise flux commentary for both balance sheet and income statement accounts/trends on a monthly basis for assigned accounts
- Review certain reconciliations prepared by staff accountant
- Continually develop and implement process improvements to streamline and shorten close timelines
- Help enhance documentation, reconciliation schedules, and analyses that support strong internal control environment
- Assist with annual financial audits, including preparation of schedules, reconciliations, and other supporting documentation to the external auditors
- Ability to work well with cross functional teams within finance (AP, RevOps, FP&A, etc.) to achieve results efficiently and effectively
- Support ad hoc projects, as needed
Desired Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA highly desired, but not required
- 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience in a fast-paced and rapidly changing business environment
- At least 2 year’s experience with a Big-4 or equivalent national accounting firm is highly desirable
- SaaS or Technology industry experience is strongly preferred
- Strong technical accounting skills
- Experience working with one or more financial ERP/general ledger systems. NetSuite experience is a plus
- Ability to demonstrate strong communication and problem-solving skills
Base Compensation Range
$90,000 - $105,000 annually
Base salary is one component of total compensation. Employees may also be eligible for an annual bonus or commission. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay.
The above represents the expected base compensation range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we’ll consider many factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors.
