EON is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to strengthen the monthly close, balance-sheet reconciliation, accounts payable and payroll accounting processes and adhoc analysis. The role is designed for an accountant who is comfortable working across general ledger and operational accounting in a growing environment.

What You’ll Do

Accounts Payable & Vendor Accounting

  • Support end-to-end accounts payable processing, including invoice intake, coding, approval support, entry, payment preparation and vendor issue resolution.
  • Maintain accurate vendor records and supporting documentation and assist with vendor master and payment-control procedures.
  • Reconcile AP-related balances and support period-end cutoff and completeness procedures.
  • Assist with credit-card and employee-expense accounting, including appropriate coding and reconciliation.
  • Use EON systems and tools, including Sage Intacct, BILL and Expensify, in accordance with company procedures and internal controls.

Payroll Accounting

  • Support biweekly and ad hoc payroll processing and related accounting activities.
  • Prepare or support payroll journal entries, accrued payroll and payroll liability reconciliations.
  • Validate payroll-related balances and supporting schedules and investigate differences promptly.
  • Serve as cross-trained backup for payroll-related accounting processes to reduce single-person dependency.

Cash & Treasury Accounting

  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and investigate unmatched or unusual cash activity.
  • Support cash reporting and treasury accounting, including documentation for material cash movements and payment activity.
  • Help ensure cash, AP and credit-card activity is reconciled early in the monthly close cycle.

General Ledger & Month-End Close

  • Prepare and post routine monthly journal entries with clear supporting documentation and meaningful memo descriptions.
  • Support the monthly close calendar and complete assigned close activities within established deadlines.
  • Prepare supporting schedules for balance-sheet and income-statement accounts and investigate unusual or unexplained activity.
  • Support the Controller and Accounting Manager in moving the close toward a formal preparer/reviewer model with complete documentation and sign-off.

Assist with consolidation and intercompany accounting as assigned and grow into broader close responsibilities over time.

Balance-Sheet Reconciliations

  • Prepare timely and accurate account reconciliations, including bank accounts, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accrued expenses and other assigned balance-sheet accounts.
  • Identify reconciling items, research differences and drive items to resolution rather than carrying unsupported balances forward.
  • Maintain clear support for account purpose, activity, ending balance and outstanding reconciling items.
  • Escalate material or unusual matters to the Accounting Manager and Controller.

Controls, Audit & Diligence Support

  • Follow documented accounting playbooks, approval requirements and segregation-of-duties controls.
  • Maintain audit-ready support for journal entries, reconciliations and accounting schedules.
  • Prepare routine PBC schedules and supporting documentation for external audit, financial review, tax and diligence requests.
  • Identify control or process gaps and recommend practical improvements to the Accounting Manager and Controller.
  • Follow documented accounting

What you bring:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA or CPA-candidate preferred
  • Experience: 5+ years of progressive experience working in a similar role.
  • Working knowledge of general account principles and monthly closing
  • Good oral and written communication skills and organization skills.
  • Advanced to expert level spreadsheet proficiency
  • Sage Intacct Mastery: required hands-on experience in Sage Intacct
