Who You Are

We are seeking an experienced Temp Senior Accountant to own key core accounting functions during a critical growth phase. Reporting to financial leadership, this role will drive the monthly close, manage complex balance sheet reconciliations, execute journal entries, and build reporting models. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced startup environment and possesses strong technical proficiency with modern accounting tools.


What You’ll Do
  • Month-End & Year-End Close: Own the monthly close workflow, ensuring timely ledger maintenance, rollforwards, and preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements.
  • Journal Entries & Technical Accounting: Prepare complex monthly journal entries, including accruals, prepaid expenses, and revenue recognition management.
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Prepare and review monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and rollforwards; investigate and resolve variance discrepancies directly within the ERP.
  • Financial Analysis & BI Reporting: Conduct monthly fluctuation analyses (flux analysis) and build analytical reporting models for key stakeholders as needed.
  • Audit & Tax Support: Prepare routine Provided by Client (PBC) deliverables, administrative items, and financial statement support for external audits and tax return filings as needed. 
  • Cash Flow & Operational Support: Assist with bill pay processing and maintaining 13-week cash flow projection models; assist with full-cycle accounts payable, PEO processing, and payroll duties as needed.
  • Process & Controls Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve internal controls and assist in drafting and updating the accounting policies and procedures manual.

What You Bring
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • Background & Experience:
    • 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
    • Startup environment experience is strongly preferred.
    • Prior experience in public accounting (Big Four preferred) and corporate industry roles.
    • Multi-entity experience, including US and foreign currency divisions.
  • Systems & Software Expertise:
    • Close Management: Numeric
    • Reporting & BI: DataRails, Hex, and advanced Microsoft Excel modeling
    • ERP & Ops: NetSuite, Ramp, and PEO systems for AP/payroll processing
  • Core Competencies:
    • Strong quantitative ability, attention to detail, and data-driven problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to tailor messages across teams.
    • Highly autonomous self-starter who can take direction, prioritize deadlines, and execute independently in a fast-moving environment.
    • Ability to wear multiple hats and deal with ambiguity
    • Collaborative, team-first attitude 
 What We Bring

Harvest Hosts is a fully remote company with team members located across the United States and Europe. Target annual salary is $95,000-$120,000. Benefits include Paid Time Off, health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) with employer match, and most of all, a fun work environment.

This position is expected to be 3-4 months long.
