About the Role:
CrowdStrike is seeking a Security Engineer to become the latest member of the Threat Intelligence & Detection Engineering (TIDE) team. The TIDE team is the author of all the detections written to detect attacks against CrowdStrike's infrastructure, and the caretaker of all supporting systems, processes, and technologies. In addition, the team is responsible for driving security analytics, automation, and providing strategic and tactical awareness to potential security concerns.
A successful candidate will have experience researching attacker techniques against enterprise technologies and establishing automation for detection and response at scale, creating and maturing resilient operational capabilities.
Our Team's mission is to build a robust detection, response and remediation ecosystem to support the scale, growth and security of CrowdStrike. You will identify innovative approaches and leverage data-driven insights to deliver high-quality detection coverage, investigation, and response across attack surfaces. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will develop scalable systems to automate detection and remediation.
What You'll Do:
Be responsible for driving security analytics, automation, and providing strategic and tactical awareness to potential security concerns.
Research attacker techniques against enterprise technologies and establishing automation for detection and response at scale.
Create and mature resilient operational capabilities.
What You’ll Need:
Experience in Security Engineering, Incident Response, or related fields
Experience with security detection and response technology (SOAR & SIEM) products
Experience with big-data processing tools (e.g. LogScale, Splunk, Kibana)
Experience curating network and host-based detections
Experience working in a globally distributed team
Experience constructing novel and creative attack scenarios, identifying, triaging, or remediating abuse issues or business logic vulnerabilities
Experience in cloud security, including IaaS, PaaS and SaaS, on all major public cloud providers and cloud native technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform)
Experience capturing and reporting operational metrics and key trends to senior leadership
Experience leading and managing complex cross-functional programs
Experience with Python, GoLang, or other programming languages
Strong understanding of operating systems, file systems, and memory on Windows, MacOS, and Linux
Strong understanding of fundamental networking concepts
Strong understanding of networking and web security (e.g. SSL/TLS, OAuth, SAML, XSS)
Strong understanding of OWASP and security engineering principles
Strong understanding of security architecture, tool integration, API development and automation
Excellent documentation skills and verbal communication skills
B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field, or equivalent experience

SANS GIAC: GCIA, GPEN, GCIH, GCFA, GMON, GCDA, or GCED
