About the role:

We are seeking an exceptional Security Engineer to join our Engineering Team. This role will report to the Security Engineering Manager. You will play a vital role in safeguarding our healthcare data infrastructure, ensuring that as we scale, our defensive posture remains rigorous and proactive. Your work directly enables Garner to maintain the deep trust of our members and partners by identifying risks and implementing sub-component security solutions before they impact the business.

Where you will work:

Garner is headquartered in NYC, but this position is available for individuals who are comfortable with remote work and occasional travel to HQ.

What you will do:
  • Use Claude to create vulnerability management as a service for developers
  • Eliminate data security risks via our DLP tooling
  • Write software and leverage infrastructure as code to solve security issues while being your own platform engineer
  • Partner with teammates and stakeholders to ensure outcomes meet expectations
The ideal candidate has:
  • Great communication skills, explaining complex security topics in terms everyone can comprehend
  • Excellent stakeholder relationship skills, meeting people where they are understanding that faster iterative progress is the game
  • Experience leveraging AI tools and modern security practices to increase the efficacy of individual and team workflows
  • The ability to take an idea or concept and deliver technical solutions and manage their project and product such that it solves the business need in perpetuity
  • A desire to be a part of a high-performing, mission-driven team that operates with intense urgency, a strong sense of individual accountability, and a commitment to authentic feedback

Compensation Transparency:

The target salary range for this position is $141,000 - $165,000. Individual compensation for this role will depend on various factors, including qualifications, skills, and applicable laws. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible to participate in our equity incentive and competitive benefits plans, including but not limited to: flexible PTO, Medical/Dental/Vision plan options, 401(k), Teladoc Health and more.
