YOUR MISSION

True Anomaly is seeking a Security Awareness, Training, and Education (SATE) Specialist to join our Government Security team in Denver, CO. In this role you will design and lead our corporate security training programs across all domains, ensuring a cleared workforce stays compliant and mission-ready. True Anomaly builds innovative technology at the intersection of spacecraft, software, and AI to safeguard global security, and this position will translate that mission into practice by embedding security best practices into our people and culture. The ideal candidate will leverage extensive security experience and education expertise to develop engaging security awareness curricula. You will cover everything from cybersecurity and counterintelligence awareness to COMSEC, personnel security, physical security, program security, classification management, insider-threat and government inspection compliance training. This hybrid role will work across business functions and programs to integrate security training into all True Anomaly programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Security Training and Awareness Programs: Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive security training curriculum for all cleared employees. This includes designing training materials and events for cybersecurity awareness (phishing simulations, IT policy training), counterintelligence/insider-threat, personnel security processes (SF-86 briefings, CI red flags), COMSEC basics, physical security (entry control, access badge rules), program-specific security (e.g. SAPF/SCIF protocols), and classification management (marking guides, downgrading procedures), amongst other security topics. This individual will use a variety of formats – in-person briefings, e-learning modules, hands-on exercises, posters/bulletins, and newsletters – to educate, refresh, and motivate personnel to follow security policies. They will ensure that all new hires and ongoing cleared staff complete mandatory awareness and refresher training per NISPOM/DoD requirements (32 CFR 117.12).
  • Program Support and Compliance: Coordinate with Program Managers and business functional leads to integrate security training into program workflows. Align all training with contractual security requirements (DD Form 254, Security Classification Guides) and industry regulations (NISPOM, DoD directives, ICD 705). Maintain training records and compliance documentation for DCSA/IC audits. The SATE Specialist will actively support inspections and self-audits by providing training metrics and corrective plans to address any deficiencies.
  • Training Delivery and Measurement: Lead and manage all security training and awareness activities. This includes conducting regular briefings and exercises – such as initial and annual refresher security indoctrinations (covering topics such as threat/CI awareness, classification, reporting procedures, and cybersecurity). Develop practical training materials to reinforce local security procedures.
  • Communication and Culture: Act as a security champion throughout True Anomaly. Publish security bulletins, run awareness events (e.g. Security Month activities), and answer workforce questions on security best practices. Work with subcontractor security personnel to reinforce a strong physical security and access control program. Ensure on-the-job security training is integrated into new-hire onboarding and leadership off-sites. Collaborate with People Ops to make security awareness a visible part of the company culture.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Active TS/SCI US government security clearance with SAP eligibility strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of security experience, including security education/training. Industrial security experience at a cleared defense contractor or within the military is a strong plus. Experience must include managing or delivering security training programs (e.g. NISPOM compliance, SCIF operations, COMSEC, CI), as demonstrated by previous roles.
  • Proven ability to design instructional content and deliver engaging training sessions to diverse audiences. Excellent communication skills and organizational ability. High attention to detail and comfort with compliance/audit processes.
  • Strong familiarity with NISPOM (32 CFR Part 117), DoD security directives, insider-threat policies, and security classification rules. Ability to interpret and apply Security Classification Guides and OPSEC policies.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience developing and delivering security awareness curricula, including courses on CI and OPSEC. Completion of CDSE security courses is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with Special Access Programs (SAP) and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) procedures.
  • Comfort with learning new platforms (learning management systems, intranet tools for training). Ability to use standard office software to create training materials and track completion.
  • Self-starter with a proactive, hands-on mindset. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.

COMPENSATION

  • Base Salary: $90,000-$125,000
  • Equity + Benefits including Health, Dental, Vision, HRA/HSA options, PTO and paid holidays, 401K, Parental Leave

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, location, and experience.
