About StartEngine

StartEngine is the FinTech powerhouse driving the future of fundraising and alternative investing. StartEngine was founded by Howard Marks, the co-founder of Activision (now valued at over $75B), with the goal of helping entrepreneurs achieve their dreams by removing funding barriers. Howard partnered with co-founder Ron Miller, a veteran entrepreneur and early advocate of equity crowdfunding, to build a platform that democratizes access to capital. In 2020, StartEngine welcomed Shark Tank judge and serial entrepreneur Kevin O’Leary (aka Mr. Wonderful) as Strategic Advisor and Investor. Since its inception, StartEngine has helped over 550 companies raise more than $1.5B from retail investors, with investments starting at as little as $100.

Remote | Entry Level

StartEngine is building the future of private market liquidity, and we are rapidly expanding. We’re looking for motivated individuals to help us identify and engage shareholders at venture-backed companies who may be interested in selling their equity through StartEngine’s various platforms. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who wants to break into the PE/VC landscape, gain exposure to how secondary transactions work, and ultimately grow into a licensed, full-time professional in the private markets.

What You'll Do

  • Identify & Evaluate Leads
  • Research and compile lists of potential shareholders at private companies
  • Use online professional networks and public data to identify individuals likely holding vested equity
  • Assess leads based on role seniority, tenure, and potential equity exposure

  • Execute Outreach Campaigns
  • Prepare targeted outreach lists and upload them into internal workflows
  • Build and launch personalized outreach campaigns
  • Track activity and engagement to help optimize outreach strategies over time

  • Manage Responses & Support Sellers
  • Monitor inbound responses across multiple accounts
  • Respond promptly to interested individuals and answer initial questions
  • Maintain organized tracking systems to ensure no lead is overlooked

What We're Looking For

  • Growth oriented, highly organized and capable of managing large volumes of outreach and responses
  • Early career candidates — recent grads or individuals with some finance exposure preferred
  • Strong interest in startups, private markets, investing, PE/VC, or secondary liquidity
  • Motivated by mission — excited to help build a rapidly emerging category in private markets

Compensation and Growth Plan

  • Competitive hourly compensation, with room to expand your responsibilities
  • Clear path to transitioning into a full-time salary + commission role, including sponsorship for necessary licenses (Series 7 and 63)
  • Opportunity to play a key role in shaping a rapidly emerging category in private markets
