SDA Modeling and Simulation SME

KBR Corporation is seeking a Space Domain Awareness Modeling and Simulation SME to support the Space Security and Defense Program (SSDP) Space Domain Awareness division in Colorado Springs, CO. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct on-site Space Domain Awareness (SDA) analytical support.
  • Perform analysis that informs ongoing studies and force design efforts.
  • Utilize Modeling and Simulation (M&S) to support analytical efforts.
  • Collaborate directly with government sponsors and a diverse contractor team.
  • Execute rapid, quick-turn analytical tasks in support of mission needs.
  • Develop minimally viable prototypes to support analytical findings and concepts.
  • Analyze and evaluate SDA systems-of-systems, including their design and operation.
  • Bring a deep understanding of SDA architectures, capabilities, and operational concepts.
  • Identify novel opportunities and innovative approaches related to SDA.
  • Communicate analytical findings and insights to senior leadership and decision makers.
  • Support efforts that inform senior leaders and acquisition agencies on current and future mission needs.

Qualifications

Required:

  • An active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility/CI Polygraph, which is something only a U.S. citizen can obtain.
  • Advanced degree in computer science, data science, engineering, or other technical field with demonstrated experience analyzing and reporting on large data-sets.
  • Understanding of space-domain awareness or space operations, with an interest in the underlying operation of SDA systems.
  • Experience with modeling and simulation.
  • Analysis language skills: Python, MATLAB, R.
  • Master of Science degree in related Engineering field and over 5 years of experience.

Desired

  • 10+ years experience with Department of War or commercial SDA systems.
  • Extensive experience with statistics and statistical modeling (including use of analysis languages previously mentioned.)
  • Extensive software development experience including DevSecOps tooling; prior experience developing and deploying software on TS/SCI systems.
  • Experience with and deep understanding of statistical estimation and astrodynamics / orbit determination.

Work Environment:

  • Location: On-site
  • Travel Requirements: Minimal 0-20%
  • Working Hours: Standard

Scheduled Weekly Hours:

40hrs

Basic Compensation:

$140,000 - $160,000

This range is for Colorado only.

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
