Position Description
The Scrum Master serving the Strategic Software Product Line Management organization will be instrumental in the implementation of multiple software development projects to release new products, enhance existing products, enable network automation, and improve user experience for Zayo customers. Working with cross-functional Agile teams, the Scrum Master will ensure the Scrum teams are operating at their full capacity with minimal distractions, and delivering product increments based on the Product Owner's prioritized backlog. The Scrum Master will foster a high performing and positive environment to support the development, quality assurance, and implementation of new products, features, and automation capabilities based on stakeholder requirements and customer feedback.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate small-to-medium complexity initiatives with teams from initiation through release, providing oversight to ensure alignment with Agile practices.
- Manage Scrum ceremonies including daily scrum, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint review with stakeholders to gain approvals to move forward, and retrospectives to continue improving agile practices and processes.
- Configure and manage Agile boards in issue tracking and devops lifecycle application according to needs of the development teams
- Facilitate effective communication between Stakeholders and Product Owners to ensure alignment between business priorities and the product backlog
- Communicate cross-functionally to ensure transparency of progress and outcomes
- Ensure other roles of the Scrum team are performing their responsibilities effectively (Product Owners and Development Team) and maintain positive relationships between the product owner and the development team
- Protect Scrum teams from interference in achieving sprint goals
- Remove impediments for the development team and create winning conditions for the development team to succeed
- Create a trusting and safe team environment to track and manage product backlogs, scrum board, burndown metrics, velocity, and other performance elements as required
- Assist DevOps team in adoption of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) according to organizational needs
- Be the Agile coach for Zayo to promote new processes, methodologies, emerging Agile technologies, and current Agile approaches
Qualifications
- Active CSM™, CSPO™ or other related certification highly encouraged.
- Minimum 2-year experience in Scrum Master role for a software or product development organization
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g. computer science or engineering) preferred
- Experience in telecommunications products or service provider industry preferred but not required
- Experience in software development, QA processes, and automated testing preferred
- Experience translating technical information into non-technical language
- High level of professionalism with outstanding ability to work effectively and efficiently with peers and with all levels of management
- Excellent time management skills as well as the ability to work independently and handle multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to capture an audience during a presentation
- Experience in Aha!, Jira, Confluence, Github/Gitlab, Salesforce, Google Workspace, Jira, or Aha! Roadmap would be an asset

Base Salary Range: $64,700 - $105,000, commensurate with experience
