Co-own the SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud finance value stream, running end-to-end finance flows (record-to-report, invoice-to-cash, acquire-to-retire). Drive AI-led automation (automated close, automated testing), assess and adopt Public Cloud releases, collaborate with operations and central platform teams, and ensure a clean, auditable financial core while owning financial outcomes.

At ABB, we help industries run leaner and cleaner—and every person here makes that happen. You’ll be empowered to lead, supported to grow, and proud of the impact we create together. Join us and help run what runs the world.

This position reports to:

IS Manager

__

In this role, you will co-own our SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud unit as a single value stream, leading finance end-to-end — record-to-report, invoice-to-cash, and acquire-to-retire. This is a fully accountable owner's seat in a clean-core, fast-moving environment with one mandate: run this unit as fast and as AI-automated as possible, while keeping the financial core right. You will own the financial outcome together with one equal peer who leads operations; there is no hand-off to a support team, and no hierarchy between you.

The work model for the role is: Hybrid

Main stakeholders are Finance, Controlling, the Operations co-owner, and the Central Platform Team.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Co-owning the unit as one value stream and owning finance end to end — record-to-report, invoice-to-cash, and acquire-to-retire, run as connected flows, not FI/CO silos — with full accountability for a single shared outcome alongside the Operations co-owner.
  • Driving AI adoption at scale and stretching automation to its limit — beginning with automating the close and regression-testing financial processes against the continuous Public Cloud release cadence, then automating the finance flows themselves — all while keeping the financial core correct and auditable.
  • Running finance fast and lean — assessing every S/4 Public Cloud release for fit and new functionality, adopting what adds value while keeping the core clean, and drawing on the central team's Developer, Integration, and Reporting services to deliver (directing and consuming them, not duplicating them).
  • Co-owning the cross-functional seams with the Operations owner — order-to-cash and procure-to-pay run across both of you — so the end-to-end flow holds and the numbers reconcile.

Our Team dynamics

You will join a small, senior, high-ownership team — two equal co-owners running one unit — where you will be able to thrive.

Qualifications for the role:

  • You have hands-on SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud experience — not Private, not ECC alone. You know the clean-core model, the release cadence, and what the Public Cloud will and will not allow. (This is a hard requirement.)
  • A degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; a professional accounting qualification (CPA / ACCA / local equivalent) is a plus.
  • You are driven to adopt AI at scale and push automation — automating the close and the testing of every release first — to its absolute limit; you treat a clean, fast-moving unit as a place to find the ceiling of what can run with no manual effort, not to hold a steady state.
  • You are deep across S/4 Finance — FI (GL, AP, AR, AA), CO (cost and profit centers, product costing, margin analysis), period close, tax, and financial/group reporting — and you think in flows (record-to-report, order-to-cash), not isolated configuration.
  • You have a demonstrated track record of extreme ownership — owning an outcome end to end (build and run) — you share a single outcome with an equal peer without building turf, and you keep the financial core correct and auditable even while automating aggressively (statutory, tax, and governed truth are not optional).
  • You are passionate about learning and intellectually honest — comfortable with ambiguity, quick to say "I don't know" or "I was wrong," and curious enough to outpace your own defensiveness.
  • You are at ease communicating in English; an additional European language is a plus.
  • You hold a valid work authorization for the European market

What's in it for you?

This is a rare mandate: a fully accountable owner's seat on a modern Public Cloud unit, with the autonomy to push AI and automation across finance as far as they will go — automated close, automated testing, automated flows — while you keep the numbers right. If your drive is to find the ceiling of what finance can run with no manual effort, not to hold a steady state, this is the seat.
