Here at Hometap, we’re collaborative, passionate, and always ready to roll up our sleeves to create solutions that help people get more out of homeownership — and out of life. Our first product, a home equity investment, gives homeowners the opportunity to quickly access the equity they’ve built in their home to pay for what’s most important to them, from handling debt to finally making much-needed renovations, without taking on debt.
We work hard, and have some fun along the way, too. You don’t have to take our word for it: The Boston Globe and Forbes have recognized us as a great place to work, and we’ve been honored for our commitment to innovation in the fintech space by Inc., HousingWire, and more!
In case you need any more convincing, we also provide competitive compensation, healthcare coverage, generous PTO, a meaningful equity package, and a strong culture with plenty of opportunities for team-building and camaraderie.
Who you are:
We're looking for an experienced Salesforce Technical Lead to own the technical direction of our Salesforce org. Salesforce is the system of record that powers Hometap's go-to-market, operations, and reporting, and you'll bring deep expertise in advanced configuration and administration, solution architecture, and technical leadership to a business-critical environment.
You bring a strong point of view on how to translate business needs into scalable, maintainable Salesforce solutions, whether that involves the data model, integration strategy, or automation standards. You're equally comfortable going deep on technical execution and stepping back to set direction, and you take pride in raising the bar for the admins and developers around you. You’re excited to collaborate closely with engineering, product, and business leaders to keep our Salesforce ecosystem healthy, secure, and ready for what's next.
What you'll do:
- Serve as the technical lead for our Salesforce ecosystem, owning solution design and ensuring adherence to platform best practices and architectural principles
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand strategic objectives and translate them into scalable Salesforce solutions across multiple clouds
- Lead the design and governance of data models, automation strategies, and integration patterns (both point-to-point and middleware-based)
- Provide technical guidance to administrators, developers, and cross-functional project teams, ensuring alignment and consistency across initiatives
- Oversee the technical aspects of Salesforce releases including platform updates, feature deprecations, end-of-life timelines, and evaluating new features for potential adoption
- Define and enforce development and deployment best practices, including CI/CD pipelines, version control, and sandbox strategy
- Lead code reviews, performance optimizations, and technical troubleshooting for complex issues
- Collaborate with engineering teams on integrations between Salesforce and our other platforms (both 3rd party and in-house), defining APIs, data flows, and error handling approaches
- Maintain strong security and compliance posture for the platform, conducting regular audits and implementing preventative controls
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of robust technical documentation, solution diagrams, and governance policies
What you bring:
- 6+ years of Salesforce experience, with at least 2 years in a lead, solution design, or architecture-focused role
- Multiple Salesforce certifications — Advanced Administrator, Platform App Builder, Sales or Service Cloud Consultant required; Application Architect or progress toward it strongly preferred
- Proven track record designing scalable solutions using Salesforce configuration and custom development (Apex, LWC, API integrations)
- Strong knowledge of Salesforce data modeling, sharing/security model, governor limits, and performance considerations
- Hands-on experience with DevOps tools for Salesforce (Gearset, Copado, or similar), CI/CD, and version control
- Excellent facilitation skills — able to lead discovery workshops, explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences, and document solutions clearly
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with a collaborative mindset
- Experience working in a multi-environment (Production + multiple sandboxes) setup with a well-defined release process
- A systems-thinking mindset, balancing immediate business needs with long-term platform health and scalability
Bonus points:
- Salesforce Application Architect or Data Architect certification
- Experience in multi-cloud Salesforce environments (e.g., Sales, Service, Experience)
- Background in enterprise integration patterns or middleware (MuleSoft, Boomi, etc.)
- Familiarity with data warehousing or analytics integrations (Snowflake, Tableau, etc.)
- Previous experience guiding an organization along the Salesforce Architect career path — including technical mentoring and governance leadership
The salary range for this role is $150,000 - $165,000, depending on your experience, skills, location, and other factors. You’ll also receive meaningful equity, so you can share in our growth and success. We offer generous medical, dental, and vision coverage, a work-from-home stipend, parental leave, and plenty of paid time off to recharge.
