The Solutions Architect will identify and define technical solutions for small to larger projects to identify and define architecture solutions. As a member of a highly collaborative team, individuals in this position will work with software delivery teams to ensure architectural designs are understood and being implemented.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with the Business to understand and identify the business problem or need
- Define a technical solution for small-to-large sized projects
- Work with Senior resources from other teams to:
- Identify an optimal platform/environment for the solution.
- Identify an optimal design and implementation of the solution while keeping Service Level Agreements in mind.
- Identify opportunities for asset reuse, architectural simplification and consistency.
- Coordinate on technical application strategy
- Provide support to the Software Delivery/Project teams to ensure high level design has been followed through implementation
- Attend technical conferences or educational opportunities to maintain knowledge on industry best practices
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned
Salary Commensurate with Experience
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OF POSITION:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or other related field, and a minimum of 2 years of related experience ( application development or design)
- A combination of post-high school education, job related certification and related experience equivalent to 5 years, may be considered in lieu of a degree
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS OF POSITION:
- Experience with design and development of REST services
- Experience with design and development of web applications
- Must be highly motivated, creative, proactive and solution oriented
- Understanding of Relational Databases, including Oracle and DML
- Familiarity with object-oriented technology concepts
- Experience with SQL
- Familiarity with SOAP services
- Familiarity with Agile development and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery methodologies
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Being familiar with all major applications and platforms at FirstBank; strong understanding of multiple platforms, applications and interfaces between applications
- A Strong understanding of FirstBank’s information architecture
- In-depth understanding of current business processes, and the ability to participate in accommodating future business needs

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work is performed in an office environment with moderate noise levels and light to heavy traffic. An employee in this position:
- Frequently remains stationary throughout a typical business day
- Frequently operates a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer
- Occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, and other rooms
- Occasionally positions self to access drawers and shelves of various heights
- Frequently reaches for and handles paperwork and files
- Constantly communicates with customers, coworkers, and management in-person and on the phone
- Must be able to exchange accurate information
