As Sales Tax Manager you will be responsible for all planning, monitoring, and compliance matters across a complex and rapidly growing US Sales Tax landscape. You will drive the necessary system, process and business changes to ensure effective compliance and will partner with groups across the organization in support of strategic initiatives.

To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: USD 144900 - USD 189175
Zone B: USD 130500 - USD 170375
Zone C: USD 120600 - USD 157450
This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.

In this role you get to:
- Oversee sales tax compliance activities, providing review of sales tax filings across all jurisdictions.
- Research and keep abreast of rapidly evolving sales tax and digital marketplace tax requirements, ensuring necessary business and process changes are implemented to meet these changes.
- Define requirements and help manage key sales tax technology projects, including e-Invoicing, e-Filing, and billing system / ERP transformation projects.
- Ensure new sales tax jurisdictions and requirements are configured and activated in our global indirect tax engine in a timely and efficient manner, partnering with our IT team.
- Manage sales tax reviews, audits and VDAs conducted by US state taxing authorities.
- Maintain SOX compliance, internal controls and procedures related to sales tax.
- Ensure effective collaboration and engagement with business, finance and IT teams in relation to sales tax matters.
- Provide regular and insightful communications to management regarding the evolving sales tax and digital marketplace tax landscape and impacts to the business.
On the first day we expect you to have:
- 8+ years relevant experience in Sales Tax with a leading Public Accounting firm or Technology company.
- Experience in a fast growth environment delivering value as business scales rapidly.
- Sales Tax technical knowledge pertaining to software sales and e-Commerce.
- Projects experience and ability to work across multiple projects at the same time.
- Experience with Tax Engines (OneSource, Vertex, Avalara, Sovos).
- A passion for team-building, employee empowerment and continued professional development.
- A consultative, service-orientated mindset in support of the broader organization.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or Tax.
- Tax Technology implementation experience (preferred)
