Sales EngineerWe’re a venture-backed startup growing quickly — and we’re looking for a Sales Engineer who’s excited to partner with customers, showcase the power of our platform, and help scale a category-defining company.
Preference will be given to candidates local to the Bay Area who can join us in our Walnut Creek office on Tuesdays and Thursdays. However, we are open to remote arrangements for the right candidate.
The RoleAs a Sales Engineer at SewerAI, you will:
Partner with Account Executives to run the technical side of the sales process.
Act as a product expert and trusted advisor for customers in municipal, contractor, and engineering sectors.
Deliver compelling demos, presentations, and proof-of-concepts tailored to client use cases.
Translate technical capabilities into clear business outcomes that resonate with decision-makers.
Provide feedback to Product and Engineering teams based on customer needs and market trends.
Help prospects evaluate and successfully onboard onto SewerAI’s platform.
This is a high-impact, customer-facing role where you’ll bridge the gap between technical excellence and business value.
ResponsibilitiesLead technical discovery calls to understand customer requirements.
Build and deliver tailored demos, presentations, and solution proposals.
Support Account Executives in RFP/RFI responses and technical evaluations.
Collaborate with Product and Engineering to ensure product-market alignment.
Provide pre-sales support through pilot programs, proofs of concept, and trials.
Represent SewerAI at industry conferences, trade shows, and customer events.
3+ years of experience in Water Engineering, Sales Engineering, Solutions Consulting, or Technical Pre-Sales.
Background in water/civil engineering with an understanding of the underground infrastructure inspection and rehab processes.
Ability to communicate complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Knowledge of municipal, contractor, or engineering environments.
Excellent presentation skills; confident running demos and workshops.
Growth mindset: looking to grow your career and thrive in a startup environment — resourceful, adaptable, and comfortable with ambiguity.
Bonus points for:
Exposure to AI/ML products.
Knowledge of GIS, infrastructure inspection, or field services workflows.
Experience working with competitive risk analysis tools (Innovyze, Aquanuity)
Salary: $100,000-$110,000 (Equity opportunities may be available)
