As a Sales Engineer at BlackCloak, you will act as a technical advisor through the client journey, conduct product demos, and collaborate across teams to enhance customer success and drive sales.

As a Sales Engineer, you will ensure consistency throughout the client journey by engaging as technical advisor and SME from early meetings, technical demos, product demos, and presales reports/artifacts, all the way through to handoff to security operations and customer success. You will unify business and tech in meetings and explain the product portfolio and business value of your solution on all levels, including business executives, tech executives, and whole project teams with project leads, architects, engineers, and business people.
Location: Based in California or Texas preferred. This position will primarily support sales activities in these regions and Pacific, Mountain, and Central time zones.
What you will do
- Ensure consistency in client journey: engaged as a technical advisor and SME from early meetings, technical presentations, product demos, and presales findings reports/artifacts, all the way through to handoff to CSOC.
- Respond to technical presales artifacts to include: RFIs, RFPs, vendor questionnaires, technical requirements, and assist with security assessments.
- Partner with enterprise account executives B2B and private client services teams as the technical SME for all things BlackCloak in order to meet and/or exceed quotas.
- Be a public spokesperson: Polished and comfortable speaking in larger public settings or events, conferences, and partner engagements.
- Work with the channel and partner communities to demonstrate the value of BlackCloak and where we fit within the digital executive protection landscape.
- Understanding of the digital executive protection competitive landscape and how BlackCloak offerings and services compare.
- Collaborate with product and engineering: Provide feedback from the meetings and public events to product management and engineering teams, such as new feature requirements. And the other way, present the roadmap and strategic decisions to customers.
- Collaborate with product and marketing: Close to evangelism, but often independent, work with the internal marketing to support product announcements, regional road shows, global webinars, customer case studies, and other marketing initiatives to generate product/vendor awareness and sales pipeline.
- Meet many stakeholders across entire customer projects and sales lifecycles: Work with prospects/customers and partners to ensure customer success. This includes joint planning of customer projects, a strategic roadmap for the enterprise architecture, or technical partnerships.
- Ability to successfully work remotely as your primary day to day location, with also the ability to travel regionally and nationally for on-site presentations, conferences, and events < 25%.
What you need to be successful
- 3+ years of experience of technical selling & client engagement
- A technical background with an understanding in cybersecurity, digital risk protection, and threat intelligence. Experience selling digital executive protection is preferred.
- Experience navigating the organization internally and aligning cross-functional teams.
- Speaking to client executives and relating the business risk through value based selling.
- Self motivated, efficient, and the ability to work remotely
- Experience in early stage companies & an entrepreneurial mindset
- An altruistic attitude and willingness to always pitch in wherever needed
