The Role
As a Sales Development Representative (SDR), you will play a critical role in generating new business opportunities and pipeline for Kenko by identifying, engaging, and qualifying potential customers—many of whom may not be actively searching for a solution. You’ll focus on small and mid-sized wellness studios (e.g. pilates, yoga, dance & pole, cycle, & boutique gyms) driving outbound sales through phone calls, emails, and social media. You’ll create demand where none exists by connecting with business owners, building interest, and setting qualified meetings for our Account Executives. You’ll also drive referrals, engage local partners, and attend or host events in your community to kickstart the flywheel and grow Kenko’s brand awareness in your territory.
If you're passionate about fitness, sales and energized by building something from the ground up, this role is for you. This is a foundational role with opportunities to grow into Account Executive or team leadership positions as we scale.
What You Will Do
Connect with prospects: Research and break into cold accounts using a creative mix of outreach—cold calls, personalized emails, social media (e.g., Instagram, Facebook), referrals and on-site visits.
Qualify and prioritize leads: Understand each prospect’s business, needs, pains, timeline and decision-making process to determine fit
Schedule high-quality demos: Set up meetings between qualified prospects and Account Executives, confirmation process and ensuring smooth handoffs
Become a Kenko and industry evangelist: Understand the Kenko offering, benefits and impact for quality conversations leading to compelling reasons for a meeting
Meet & Exceed Goals: Consistently hit (and surpass) daily, weekly, and monthly KPIs that drive Kenko’s growth.
Build Local Presence: Represent Kenko at events, networking meetups, and community programs to increase visibility and generate leads.
Maintain Data Hygiene: Keep accurate records of outreach, lead status, and interactions in Hubspot.
What We’re Looking For:
Has some experience in sales, ideally in SMB sales selling to fitness studios, restaurants or small businesses. Recruiting and real estate experience are also particularly relevant business.
Fitness Enthusiast: Experience working in a fitness studio and understanding of studio software (bonus if you’ve used Mindbody, Wellnessliving, Marianatek, Arketa, Walla or Momence).
Sales Talent: A self-starter mindset with the drive to create your own momentum using phone, email, social and creative outreach
Strong Communicator: Easily connect with people, able to articulate ideas clearly both in written and verbal communications along with building rapport. Able to tell compelling stories and handle objections with confidence
Grit & Determination: You handle rejection well and treat it as fuel to improve. Someone who doesn’t shy away from the challenge of persistence and knows that each conversation, whether immediate or down the road, brings you closer to making a real impact.
Organized and Driven: You can manage multiple priorities—whether it’s tracking leads, emails, calls, or social outreach—and you’re resourceful in problem-solving to meet business needs. You’ll keep your work updated in hubspot and our sales software tools.
Coachable and curious: You seek feedback and are always looking to get better.
Familiarity with Hubspot, Nooks (or parallel dialer), Instagram and Facebook.
BA/BS degree preferred but not required
