Job Summary:

RectorSeal is seeking dynamic Sales Development Representatives to join our team. This role is perfect for a proactive individual who thrives on engaging with customers directly to generate leads and close sales over the phone. As a Sales Development Representative, you will play a crucial role in nurturing and expanding our customer base, focusing on traditionally underserved accounts and transforming them into loyal, mature clients. This role will be remote, and the successful individual must reside in the Continental US full-time.

You will be responsible for conducting strategic outreach to promote RectorSeal's superior products, offering personalized training sessions, distributing samples, and utilizing point-of-sale marketing displays. Your goal will be to provide compelling quotes and facilitate immediate order placements through our eCommerce platform or ERP systems. Additionally, you will communicate important updates about new product launches, promotions, and rebranding efforts to our distribution partners and end users.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Sales Execution and Customer Engagement:
    • Engage directly with customers to generate leads and close sales over the phone.
    • Communicate RectorSeal’s value proposition effectively, ensuring customers understand the benefits of our products.
    • Provide personalized service to build and maintain strong relationships with a diverse customer base, turning "long tail" customers into significant accounts.
  2. Training and Development:
    • Participate in a scalable training process centered around product knowledge, industry insights, and sales techniques.
    • Continuously improve sales skills and product knowledge to effectively engage customers and close sales.
  3. Sales Strategy Implementation:
    • Execute targeted sales strategies that align with RectorSeal’s sales territories, in coordination with the Outside Sales team.
    • Utilize conversation guides and sales tools to facilitate productive, conversion-driven interactions with customers, including distributors and contractors.
    • Educate customers about new product launches, promotions, company acquisitions, rebranding efforts, and solution-oriented messaging.
  4. Collaboration and Integration:
    • Utilize cross-sell recommendations, historical sales data, and records of past customer interactions to personalize outreach and enhance sales effectiveness.
    • Collaborate periodically with manufacturer rep principals and Regional Sales leadership to ensure alignment within the sales process.
  5. Continuous Improvement:
    • Adapt sales strategies based on performance data, customer feedback, and market trends to enhance efficiency and outcomes.
  6. Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
    • Track sales performance against goals and provide regular reports to management.
    • Implement adjustments to strategies as needed to meet or exceed targets.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s Degree or experience in Business, Marketing, Sales, Communications, or a related field
  • Experience:
    • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in sales, with a significant portion of that time spent in inside sales or a related area
    • Proven track record of successfully achieving sales targets and building customer relationships
    • Experience in the building products industry preferred, particularly in HVAC, electrical, and/or plumbing
    • Familiarity with CRM systems, sales automation tools, and data analysis platforms
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively convey RectorSeal’s value proposition
    • Experience with the latest sales technologies and platforms, including CRM software, sales automation tools, and e-commerce systems

  • Must reside in the Continental US
  • Capability to travel up to 10%, including some overnight trips within the Domestic US
