SUMMARY

The Sales Consultant will be responsible for the retail sales of vehicles retired from the rental fleet. Sales consultants are responsible for meeting all established sales goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Reach and/or exceed established sales goals for the location.
  • Deliver courteous, personalized and exceptional service to each and every customer.
  • Prospect, qualify, update and promptly follow up on all customer sales leads to generate traffic related to selling vehicles.
  • Demonstrate vehicles to prospective customers (including test drives, customer vehicle orientations, and final walkthroughs).
  • Utilize dealership computer management software to log, track and follow up with all vehicle sales customers daily interactions.
  • Stay informed on all local vehicle laws, tax requirements, and regulations related to the vehicle sales in your market.
  • Protect and secure all customers personal data and communication (both electronic and physical) with the upmost care and as required by law.
  • Ensure any vehicles used in the physical presentation remain in top form. They must be clean, and protected from theft and/or damage.
  • Present all financing, and extended service contract options to potential sales customers.
  • Prepare all sales paperwork related to the sales with much attention to detail.
  • Thoroughly inspect all potential trade-in vehicles.
  • Occasional set up and work at off site shows may be required.
  • Set up and maintain sales display area at the sales center.
  • Maintain a clean and organized sales office at all times.
  • Oversee the scheduling of all customers deliveries.
  • Work closely with the local manager on scheduling service/detail department on all sales vehicles needs.
  • Document and handle all customers payments, ensuring that all payments due are received and/or internal financing paperwork, stipulations, insurance are in place prior to final delivery.
  • Follow up with all sales customers post-delivery to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Refer any customer satisfaction issues to local management and/or sales warranty department.
  • Provide training to new customers (i.e., walk-throughs).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university; prior related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Possess a valid Drivers License. Maintain any local required occupational licensing (if applicable), and keep that license in good standing.

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and use hands to handle, feel, or type. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

  • The working conditions are normal for a retail environment.
