Preserve and promote Gamma Phi Beta ritual traditions by advising chapters, delivering ritual training, reviewing ceremonies and manuals, supporting the international ritual chair, and ensuring consistent implementation across collegiate and alumnae chapters. This appointed volunteer role requires 10–15 hours monthly, confidentiality, participation in meetings and authorized events, and strong knowledge of the sorority’s ritual practices.

Purpose
The ritual specialist preserves, protects and elevates the sacred traditions of Gamma Phi Beta by serving as a trusted resource and advisor to collegiate and alumnae chapters. Through guidance, education and partnership with the international ritual chair, the specialist ensures the consistent and beautiful implementation of all ritual ceremonies, strengthens members’ understanding of our values and promotes a lifelong connection to the Sorority’s heritage.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a resource for all ritual-related matters.
- Advise, consult and support collegiate and alumnae chapters on all ritual-related matters, as requested.
- Provide ritual training for officers, chapters and regions, as requested.
- Assist with ritual training and resources for collegiate leadership consultants, volunteer leaders, REAL Leadership events and Convention as needed.
- Review ritual ceremonies and at either the direction of International Council (IC) or international ritual chair and assist with the development of new ritual ceremonies or recommend changes.
- Review the ritual manual and recommend updates as necessary.
- Support the international ritual chair on any assigned project or special events.
- Promote and maintain a singular, universal implementation of ritual ceremonies with all chapters.
- Preserve the beauty of Gamma Phi Beta’s ritual and promote lifetime membership.
Expectations
- This role is appointed for a two-year term ending on July 31. This role is eligible for reappointment for a total of three terms.
- This role requires 10-15 hours per month, on average, including conference calls and team meetings.
- Review and be familiar with all current ritual resources.
- Attend Convention and REAL Leadership Institute (RLI), if authorized, and conduct meetings or workshops as requested.
- Attend Belonging, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (BEDI) Summit, if authorized. Meet all expectations as outlined in Gamma Phi Beta’s Appointed Volunteer Expectations Agreement.
