Fuel is building Fuel O2, a best-in-class Order Book platform, as one of the cornerstone applications to showcase the power of the Fuel VM and to provide a great experience to traders. The Risk Analyst will help to design and execute risk management strategies that enable Fuel O2 to efficiently provide trading liquidity while minimising downside risks to Fuel O2 and its liquidity providers.
Who you are:
- A financial risk management professional with 5+ years of experience managing risk associated with high volatility products
- You are familiar with multiple layers of financial risk management and can design a framework to manage risk from multiple angles
- A strong quantitative risk modeller; able to quickly focus on known risks and point to unknown risks associated with trading
- Comfortable working with technology and thinking in algorithms; Ideally have written risk management code in one or more languages, working with real-time data
- You can think both in a normal-course-of-business mindset, as well as an adversarial mindset (i.e. how to exploit weaknesses in risk controls)
- Very Nice to Have: Knowledge of crypto-based trading and smart contracts; ability to interact with blockchain data on your own, without specialised engineering support
What you'll do:
- Lead the design of financial risk management practices for multiple crypto-based products and markets
- Model risk to the organisation and present clear plans for how to manage and mitigate those risks
- Consult with leadership on key business risks associated with markets being run on Fuel O2
- Work with engineering to develop risk monitoring and mitigation tools that run in production environments
- Act as an adversarial trader trying to exploit risk management controls for personal gain
