KBR’s National Security Solutions team provides high-end engineering and advanced technology solutions to our customers in the intelligence and national security communities. KBR is seeking a highly motivated RF Engineer to support a DOW customer. Activities will support the design and integration of RF systems, the development and validation of system requirements, and the support of proof-of-concept engineering projects. A successful candidate will possess an understanding of government RF systems and have experience developing such systems in a fast-paced R&D environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the development and implementation of RF systems and simulations while adhering to customer specifications and applicable standards
- Perform RF and microwave measurements using sensitive test instrumentation, including network analyzers, to characterize, analyze, and validate system performance
- Provides support in the design, development, and testing of radio frequency (RF) and/or microwave systems architecture, components, circuits, or products. Includes antenna design, both reflector and array systems, frequency synthesizers, transmitters and receivers, Land Mobile Radio, SATCOM, and Tactical Communications
- Works independently, directing and coordinating the work of engineers and other technical personnel engaged in the compilation of engineering data, construction, and testing of models, designing component circuits, and writing reports and test procedures
- Assists senior engineers of higher-level program elements engaged in engineering or research projects. Assumes responsibility for major segments of related work
- Compiles and evaluates test data, prepares technical analysis, recommends methods and processes required to meet design objectives on new or improved products and/or processes
- Provides support in technical matters relating to Engineering Change Notices, rework, or other difficulties and specifications of a moderately complex nature
- Conducts analyses or tests pertaining to the development of new methods, materials, processes, or standards, and provides recommendations accordingly. Coordinates with other technical support personnel
- Maintains liaison with other engineering groups to keep abreast of developments in adjacent fields or programs and coordinates knowledge transfer
- Adheres to best practices for security through the implementation of scanning tools tailored for government products
Qualifications
Required:
- Must have an active TS/SCI Security Clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering or applied science from an ABET accredited institution
- Minimum of (4) years of experience related experience in Radio Frequency (RF) systems
- Candidate must have effective verbal and written communication skills; must be able to adapt communication style to suit different audiences or facilitate group discussions; develop accurate written materials to communicate information clearly and concisely
Preferred:
- Proficiency with MATLAB, Python, Rust, & C++
- Familiarity with SDR’s such as ETTUS B210/X310’s,
- Cloud/DevOps experience
- Proficient with Git
- Experience with Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Understanding of electrical design principles, and knowledge of various board technologies (e.g., RF, digital, analog)
- Proficiency with standard hardware lab equipment including scopes, logic and spectrum analyzers, signal generators, loads, and protocol analyzers
- Effective communication skills and a proven ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Experience collaborating within a multi-disciplinary systems engineering team
- Experience evaluating commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) components for compliance
Basic Compensation: $103,000- $154,800 (For Colorado Springs Only)
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
