We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Researcher to join our team. Reporting directly to the Vertical Lead, Perps, you will play a critical role in conducting in-depth protocol research, modeling risk parameters, and communicating findings with clients and the broader community. In this role, you will help shape strategic research initiatives across DeFi projects and support decision-making for high-impact stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct a comprehensive analysis of emerging DeFi protocols and products, focusing on Risk Modeling, Mechanism Design, and parameter optimization.
- Analyze financial data to draw out insights specific to protocol requirements, leveraging key metrics for various analyses.
- Develop and deliver professional reports with organized data for clients and the broader community.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality outputs.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement and innovation of our platform.
Requirements
- Proven experience in economic research, risk analysis, or a related field, with a preference for candidates with DeFi space exposure.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a solid history of conducting data-driven research.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of compiling and presenting research findings and writing formal research papers.
- Team player with the ability to work with clients and internal teams to refine product offerings.
- Proficient in reading and a strong understanding of smart contract code.
- Comfortable running and modifying Python scripts, and capable of writing basic Python scripts for data fetching and normalization for research purposes.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a passion for DeFi and blockchain technology.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Based in the United States with the ability to work remotely or from our Brooklyn office in NYC.
- Experience with smart contracts, blockchain protocols, and/or DeFi projects.
- Proficiency in Python.
- Familiarity with profiling tools and performance optimization techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Knowledge of DeFi protocols, financial markets, and black-swan events is highly desirable.
- Experience in writing Python scripts and functions to fetch and normalize data to support research activities.

Salary and seniority level commensurate with experience $120,000-$150,000.
