We are seeking a Research Associate to join the team. The candidate will be responsible for conducting process R&D activities for developing and optimizing enzymatic ligation and downstream processes at the lab scale for tech transfer to large-scale oligonucleotide production. This includes assisting in developing and optimizing ligation process, methods, and techniques in preparing, separating, purifying, analyzing, quantifying, and resolving oligonucleotide process components and objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

·  Studying and implementing R&D project objectives and targets related to chemical and engineering requirements of oligonucleotide production processes

·  Apply knowledge and laboratory experience in chemistry and analytical testing by implementing strategies and optimizing chemical reactions, methods and processes

·  Execute process development experiments and activities related to enzymatic ligation and downstream processing of complex oligonucleotides

·  Complete experimental notebooks and records adhering to standard operating procedures (SOP's) and current good manufacturing practices to maintain compliance integrity (cGMP)

·  Participate in cross-functional teams and support project teams in all stages of oligonucleotide research and development

Qualifications

Required:

·  Bachelor’s in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, biochemical engineering or related science discipline

·  Two years of industrial experience post-graduation in a pharmaceutical environment

·   Knowledge and understanding of process chemistry and development

·   Ability to work both independently and in a team setting on a variety of projects

 

Desired:

·   Master’s Degree preferred

·   Knowledge of enzymatic manipulation of DNA/RNA and biocatalysis

·   Detail and results oriented with experience in experimental plan and execution, data analysis, and documentation

·   General proficiency with tools, systems, and procedures

The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $76,080.00 - $118,875.00/yr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
