About the Position

The Coordinator, Research and Analytics will support the Center for Economic Development and Neighborhood Planning and key initiatives across the associated departments including research, planning, economic development, real estate, and mobility. This position will focus on delivering priority economic development and research initiatives through data collection and analysis, stakeholder engagement, and consistent reporting.

About the Job

Economic Development - The position will assist in advancing core economic development priorities, including:

  • Updating and maintaining the Why Downtowndata platform and database through excel, ArcGIS and/or Salesforce
  • Analyzing submarket trends using Placer.ai and other data tools
  • Assisting with office retention and business engagement activities and analytics
  • Tracking transactional data downtown, focusing on areas identified in the downtown area plan
  • Quality control as pipeline tracking moves from excel into Salesforce
  • Fielding small businesses inquires

Research and Data Analysis – The position will reinforce DDP’s commitment to credible, transparent, and accessible downtown data reporting.

  • Updating and maintaining the High Frequency Data Dashboard, 16th Street Data Dashboard and Development Map
  • Partnering with MarCom on key external communications around media requests, presentations, and partner organization data requests as needed.
  • Supporting economic impact reporting around events, sponsorships, member engagement, and internal reporting.
  • Supporting market analysis and responding to external inquiries

Community Engagement and Perceptions – The position will participate in various methods for gathering community input via survey tools and will support analysis of responses, including:  

  • Conducting and compiling survey data in partnership with the Downtown Denver Business Improvement District (BID)
  • Supporting travel behavior surveys and related analysis

General Organizational Support - In addition to departmental work, the coordinator will support broader organizational priorities, including:

  • Assisting with major events and activations (e.g., Bike to Work Day, Downtown Denver Awards, Colorado Startup Week)
  • Providing flexible capacity for cross-team initiatives as needed. Supporting committees, administrative tasks, and external presentations.

  • Passion for and commitment to city building.
  • Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, data analytics, public administration, economic development, real estate, business development, or a related field is required. Interest in growing in any and/or all these fields of expertise is a must!
  • Experience working with database management, GIS, web development, and data visualization tools. Experience using CoStar, Salesforce and Placer.ai is a plus!
  • Proven problem analysis, resolution and analytical skills – statical analysis experience is preferred.
  • Proven organizational skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Detail oriented; interest in delivering accurate information and data management best practice
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and ability to check deliverables for quality and correctness.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, capable of communicating in a professional and positive manner, and intentionally inclusive in conversations.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, respond quickly to changes, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while supporting a collaborative work approach as part of a project team.
  • Some flexibility and willingness to work irregular hours.
  • A great sense of humor and collaborative orientation.
  • Working knowledge in areas of sales and customer relationship building.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
