As a Remote Support Engineer II at Coretelligent, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our clients’ network environments across Fortinet, Cisco, Palo Alto, and Ubiquiti platforms. This role combines advanced troubleshooting, configuration, and optimization with a client-first approach, supporting complex multi-tenant infrastructures in a fast-paced MSP setting. You’ll serve as a trusted technical resource for escalations, collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors, and mentor junior engineers—delivering white-glove support that upholds Coretelligent’s standards of excellence and network reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide advanced remote support for Fortinet, Cisco, Palo Alto, and Ubiquiti as well as other vendors networking environments including configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Manage and maintain firewall policies, VPNs, routing, and switching configurations across client infrastructures.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues related to LAN/WAN, VLAN segmentation, DHCP/DNS, NAT, QoS, and wireless access points.
  • Analyze traffic flows, system logs, and performance metrics to identify bottlenecks and proactively improve network stability.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate vendor escalations and resolve complex or uncommon incidents.
  • Assist with firmware upgrades, site-to-site VPNs, cloud network integration (Azure/AWS), and remote access solutions.
  • Document network configurations, topologies, and troubleshooting procedures in clear, client-ready format.
  • Provide mentoring and spot training for Engineer I team members on networking fundamentals and best practices.
  • Participate in scheduled maintenance windows or after-hours escalations as required to ensure uptime and service continuity.
  • Maintain departmental SLAs, metrics, and client satisfaction goals while contributing to continuous improvement efforts.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience supporting and troubleshooting Fortinet and Cisco network environments.
  • Hands-on experience with firewall configuration, VPN setup, routing/switching, and wireless networks.
  • Proficient with FortiGate, Cisco ASA/Catalyst/Meraki, and exposure to Palo Alto and Ubiquiti.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VLANs, QoS, and IPsec tunnels.
  • Experience using network monitoring and management tools (e.g., LogicMonitor, PRTG, SolarWinds).
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and client-facing skills with a customer-first mindset.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced remote MSP environment with multiple concurrent priorities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Fortinet NSE4+, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, or equivalent vendor certification strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting multi-tenant or co-managed MSP environments.
  • Knowledge of cloud networking (Azure Virtual Networks, AWS VPCs) and Zero Trust/NAC solutions.
  • Scripting or automation experience (PowerShell, Python, or API integrations) a plus.
