POSITION SUMMARY:

Reports to the Operations Support Services Sr. Director – leads the company's reliability strategy, programs, processes, tools and technical resources to maximize the safe, compliant, and cost-effective performance of our gathering, compression and plant assets. Through leadership of Reliability Engineers, Analysts, and Rotating Equipment Specialists, the role drives the collection and analysis of equipment and operational data, converts insights into actionable improvement opportunities, and works closely with Operations, Maintenance, Technical Services, and Capital Project organizations to influence the execution of sustainable reliability solutions. The position provides strategic ownership of the company's routine maintenance and asset management processes, ensuring effective preventive, predictive, and inspection-based maintenance programs are established, optimized, and executed to support long-term asset performance. The Reliability Director is accountable for improving asset availability, reducing unplanned downtime, strengthening mechanical integrity, advancing maintenance excellence, and fostering a reliability culture that delivers long-term business value. Success in this role is achieved through collaboration, technical leadership, and organizational influence, aligning teams around common reliability and asset performance objectives.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Provides strategic ownership and governance of asset information and reliability data systems, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and effective utilization of equipment records, maintenance history, and Inspection, Testing, and Preventive Maintenance (ITPM) data within SAP, GE APM, and related reliability platforms.
  • Leads the development, implementation, and continuous optimization of risk-based Inspection, Testing, and Preventive Maintenance (ITPM) strategies by coordinating subject matter experts across Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Technical Services to ensure safe, compliant, reliable, and cost-effective asset performance.
  • Owns and governs the Mechanical Integrity Program and Major Equipment Deficiency (MED) process, ensuring effective risk identification, prioritization, mitigation, and regulatory compliance across the asset portfolio.
  • Directs the collection, validation, and analysis of system-wide and asset-specific availability, reliability, and performance data to support KPI development, enterprise reporting, performance benchmarking, and reliability improvement initiatives.
  • Serves as a champion for reliability excellence by promoting the application of industry-recognized reliability methodologies, asset management principles, predictive technologies, and continuous improvement practices throughout the organization.
  • Ensures the Reliability organization delivers effective monitoring, diagnostics, and technical support for critical pump, compression, and rotating equipment assets, enabling proactive maintenance strategies and optimized equipment performance.
  • Leads the conversion of operational, maintenance, condition-monitoring, and asset-health data into actionable insights that drive data-based decision making, improve asset reliability, and enhance business performance.
  • Directs the identification, prioritization, and execution of reliability improvement initiatives, including systematic management of bad actor equipment, chronic failure elimination efforts, and asset performance optimization programs.
  • Provides leadership, coaching, and technical oversight to Reliability Engineers, Analysts, and Rotating Equipment Specialists to ensure consistent application of reliability principles, effective troubleshooting, and delivery of value-added support to front-line operations and maintenance teams.
  • Leads and governs Root Cause Analysis (RCA) processes for significant equipment failures, reliability events, and incidents, ensuring the identification of systemic causes and implementation of sustainable corrective and preventive actions.
  • Provides strategic ownership of the company's routine maintenance processes, standards, and maintenance governance framework, ensuring preventive, predictive, and inspection-based maintenance programs are optimized to maximize asset availability, reliability, and lifecycle value.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; mechanical, chemical or metallurgy engineering preferred.
  • Ten (10) years leadership experience required; experience leading a mid-size organization with geographical diversity preferred.
  • Experience with gas compression equipment operation and maintenance – strongly preferred
  • Experience with asset management and routine maintenance process - preferred
