Job Title

Reliability Engineer IThe Reliability Engineer is responsible for driving equipment reliability, asset performance, and facility infrastructure effectiveness across manufacturing operations. This role leads initiatives that improve equipment uptime, reduce unplanned downtime, and strengthen asset lifecycle management through data-driven reliability strategies and capital project execution.
This position plays a critical role in advancing Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) by supporting Planned Maintenance systems, driving focused improvement activities, and partnering with Operations to enhance equipment ownership and performance.
Roles & Responsibilities

Equipment Reliability & TPM Support

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve reliability strategies for critical production and facility assets to maximize equipment uptime and performance.

  • Support and strengthen the TPM Planned Maintenance Pillar by optimizing preventive and predictive maintenance programs based on equipment criticality and failure modes.

  • Partner with Operations to reinforce Autonomous Maintenance standards, ensuring equipment basic conditions are restored and sustained.

  • Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and structured problem-solving activities in support of the Focused Improvement (Kaizen) Pillar.

  • Drive improvements in MTBF, MTTR, OEE, and overall equipment reliability performance.

  • Support Early Equipment Management by providing reliability input into new equipment selection, installation, and commissioning.

  • Maintain and improve asset data integrity within the CMMS to ensure accurate PM compliance, work history, and reliability tracking.

Project Planning & Management

  • Identify, scope, and execute capital and expense projects that improve equipment reliability, safety, capacity, and lifecycle performance.

  • Develop project budgets, schedules, scopes of work, and technical specifications aligned with operational priorities.

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams during all phases of project design, installation, commissioning, and handoff.

  • Lead structured project execution utilizing data-driven decision-making and TPM-aligned improvement methodologies.

  • Evaluate vendor proposals, manage contractors, and ensure project execution meets cost, timeline, and performance objectives.

  • Determine feasibility and/or design of new equipment or modifications considering reliability, maintainability, and long-term operating cost.

Data Analysis & Reliability Performance Management

  • Develop and track reliability KPIs including OEE, MTBF, MTTR, PM compliance, and downtime trends.

  • Establish standardized baselines for equipment performance and support site reliability scorecards.

  • Analyze maintenance and operational data to identify chronic losses and systemic failure patterns.

  • Support condition monitoring, audits, and equipment health assessments to proactively mitigate risk.

Continuous Improvement & TPM Culture Development

  • Serve as a champion for TPM principles, promoting proactive maintenance and equipment ownership.

  • Collaborate with departments to identify reliability improvement opportunities ranging from low-cost Kaizen improvements to high-capital investments.

  • Facilitate training and coaching to strengthen reliability competencies within Maintenance and Operations teams.

  • Support development of standard work, inspection routines, and reliability documentation to sustain gains.

  • Participate in internal working groups to share best practices and standardize reliability approaches across facilities.

Job RequirementsEducation and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related technical field) preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience in reliability engineering, capital project management, or industrial facilities support.

  • Experience implementing or supporting TPM, RCM, Lean, or similar continuous improvement frameworks.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant manufacturing, facilities, or reliability engineering experience.

Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong technical background in facilities, utilities, and/or industrial systems (mechanical, electrical, or chemical preferred)
  • Experience with equipment uptime, reliability engineering, TPM, and preventive maintenance programs
  • Proven project management experience (capital projects, contractor management, budgeting)
  • Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams
  • Proficiency with CAD or 3D design tools (preferred)
  • Experience with process control systems, building management systems, or HMI/controls programming (preferred)
  • Strong analytical skills with Excel and data tracking for performance/reliability metrics
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP (S/4HANA preferred) or similar platforms
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent oral/written communications (including writing clear reports), organizational expertise, and team building/effective conflict resolution skills.
  • Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds
Additional Details
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, typically 8:00am–5:00pm
  • Travel: Up to 10% (occasional travel to other sites)

Target Hiring Range

Annual Salary: USD 92,000.00 - USD 121,440.00
