The manager will lead testing automation and release engineering, develop QA strategies, allocate resources, and improve QA processes. They will mentor teams and ensure project delivery while collaborating cross-functionally.
The Release Engineering & Test Automation Manager will be responsible for leading our test automation efforts, developing and executing a comprehensive QA strategy, and ensuring the highest quality standards across all of our applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automated testing, release engineering, building frameworks for multiple teams to leverage, a proven track record of leading projects from planning through delivery, and experience working in a fast-paced environment.
What you will do
- Lead and manage the Release Engineering & Test Automation team, providing direction, mentorship, and support.
- Develop and implement a QA strategy that aligns with our company goals and application needs.
- Determine the best tools and technologies for automated API testing, scale testing, and automated UI testing.
- Build frameworks for other engineering teams to leverage in their own testing efforts.
- Lead adoption of CI/CD release engineering techniques implementing industry best practices for achieving safe and predictable releases.
- Continuously improve development velocity by driving improvement in dev environments, build, test, and release processes.
- Allocate resources effectively to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
- Oversee the development and execution of testing within a CI/CD pipeline using GitHub Actions.
- Ensure continuous improvement of QA processes and practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Hire, train, and develop QA team members, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
What skills and experience you bring
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with release engineering
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in test automation
- Minimum 3 years of experience managing teams as well as managing release engineering and test automation processes.
- Strong leadership character with a demonstrable desire to make a significant impact by pushing results and quality.
- Strong expertise in automated API testing, scale testing, and automated UI testing.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects from planning through delivery in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing using GitHub Actions.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly AWS and Azure.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively plan, hire, and hold team members accountable.
