Location:
This is a remote position with frequent domestic travel. To be successful in this position, you'll travel 50% annually for key face to face sales activities. The primary sales territory is currently North Eastern USA including OH, PA, NY, NJ, VA and other North Eastern States. Candidates should live within 1 hour of a major airport given frequent travel associated with this position.
Position Summary:
Canadian Solar is seeking a technically minded Direct Sales Manager for the PV Modules group to develop customer relationships and business opportunities in various East Coast states of the USA. You’ll be trusted to uncover new opportunities, drive sales and cement Canadian Solar as a market share leader in the respective region as you sell products from CSI’s component portfolio. This position requires frequent face to face customer interaction and strong relatiosnhip building skills.
Generate, identify, qualify and contact new business leads for the module sales group
Establish new relationships with PV Distribution and Installation companies that will result in new revenue channels and perpetuate Canadian Solar's reputation as a leading manufacturer
Meet with existing distribution and installation partners; develop a close, binding relationship, understand their needs and take steps to ensure the company’s solutions are positioned to solve their growing and changing needs
Use data to gauge your success and track how you're pacing towards meeting and exceeding individual and team KPI's (key performance indicators) related to new business growth, sales volume, market share and more within your designated territories
Manage the entire sales cycle (lead generation, technical education and deal closing) of our Module PV Products in the Residential sector.
Partner closely with Executives in Sales, Operations, Planning and more to establish revenue forecasts, communicate progress towards established goals, and conduct prospect reviews
Collect competitive market and territory data from the field, sharing best practices and new business development opportunities with your collective team
Participate in trade shows and conferences to represent the company, to entertain clients and prospects and to close new sales opportunities.
Required Qualifications:
Must have at least 3 years of B2B sales experience within the photovoltaic industry
Strong existing network of renewable energy Project Developers and EPC's.
Residence within one hour of a major airport and currently living in the Eastern USA.
Engineering background / technical sales proficiency preferred.
Ability to quickly learn detailed information about both the wider solar energy industry, trends and be a subject matter expert in state level markets.
Demonstrated an ability to find and signup new prospects.
Experience with value selling and designing an account penetration strategy/plan is required.
Ability to find the decision maker in a complex deal.
Strong presentation and communication, written, and verbal skills.
Excellent interpersonal relations and demonstrated ability to work with others effectively.
High proficiency in MS Office applications and CRM systems.
Self-motivated and able to work independently and proactively without supervision.
Great work ethic, can-do attitude, competitive and driven attributes needed.
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree focused on Business, Marketing, Communications or Engineering.
Compensation & Benefits
Canadian Solar offers a competitive salary plus fully comprehensive benefits and performance bonus package based on an annual objective achievement. Our generous benefits package includes a 401(k) Retirement Plan, medical/dental/life/disability program, PTO and sick days.
The pay range for this position is $120,000 – 140,000 USD. This range represents annual base salary only, without regard to location, and does not include bonus or other incentives or benefits that may apply. The pay range for this role is subject to change.
