Job Summary:

The Regional Sales Manager, IoT Modules, shall be responsible for driving sales and growth within the assigned territory by identifying, qualifying, and closing business opportunities, and ensuring that the region meets or exceed sales targets.    The RSM is responsible for developing and executing sales strategies with accounts and across the region, and for building strong customer relationships.  The primary focus of this role is on the modules portfolio with Semtech’s IoT Systems and Connectivity business unit. The RSM shall be responsible for all of the IoT modules business within the assigned region, which may be transacted directly with end customers, or indirectly via distribution partners. 

Responsibilities:

Sales and Business Development:

  • Identify, prospect, qualify, and drive to closure new business opportunities within the assigned region for IoT modules.  Meet and exceed sales targets for revenue, new design wins, and new opportunity pipeline
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers up to and including senior levels of the customer organizations and facilitate relationships with key stakeholders within the Semtech organization
  • Foster relationships with partner organizations within region – such as Semtech channel partner sales teams in order to enable these teams to drive sales of Semtech’s module portfolio

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with product line management and marketing teams to align sales efforts with product offerings and promotional campaigns
  • Provide ongoing market intelligence feedback to various stakeholders within the organization to inform product decisions, roadmaps, prioritization
  • Collaborate with customer operations and operations teams to ensure smooth supply/demand execution for customers in region
  • Partner with Field Application Engineering, leading the joint commercial + technical account engagement.  Provide guidance on prioritization based on business opportunity.
  • Direct customer inquiries, needs, and escalations as appropriate within internal organization in order to achieve excellent customer satisfaction

Reporting and KPIs:

  • Maintain an accurate demand / revenue forecast across the region so as to inform revenue expectations, supply requirements, and ensure excellent operation between Semtech and customers/partners
  • Use Salesforce.com to manage and document customer interactions and pipeline status

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 years of sales or business development experience, preferably in telecommunications or technology sector
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and achieving business growth
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with customers and partners at all levels of organizations
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently
  • Proficient in using CRM software and other sales tools
  • Working technical understanding and familiarity with cellular technologies, nomenclature, and landscape are highly desirable

Desire Qualifications:

  • Experience within the IoT space is highly desirable

Travel:

  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with customers, attend trade shows, and support sales initiatives.  Travel could be 50%, and would primarily, but not exclusively, be within assigned region.

A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this position is $130,000 - $160,000 plus sales commission.  There are several factors taken into consideration in determining base salary, including but not limited to: job-related qualifications, skills, education and experience, as well as job location and the value of other elements of an employee’s total compensation package.
