Purpose:

The purpose of this role is to contribute to the organization's success by performing assigned duties and responsibilities efficiently and effectively. The Regional Permitting Coordinator position involves collaborating with team members, adhering to company policies, and striving to achieve both individual and collective goals. Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Regional Permitting Coordinator who is responsible for managing right-of-way (ROW) permitting activities to support fiber network design and construction across its assigned region. This role serves as a key liaison between internal engineering teams, contractors, and local jurisdictions to ensure timely and compliant permit approvals for fiber installation projects.

The position will report to the Permitting Manager.

 

Key Responsibilities:

·         Coordinate and manage ROW permitting efforts for fiber construction projects across assigned region  

·         Serve as primary point of contact with municipalities, counties, property managers and other regulatory agencies  

·         Prepare, submit, and track permit applications to ensure timely approvals  

·         Follow up on submitted permits and proactively resolve issues or deficiencies  

·         Generate and maintain GIS data, exhibits, and maps to support permit applications  

·         Coordinate procurement of traffic control plans and other required supporting documentation  

·         Collaborate with engineering, construction, and project management teams to align permitting timelines with project schedules  

·         Work closely with the Permitting Manager to coordinate overall project timelines, priorities, and permitting strategy  

·         Partner with the Permitting Manager and broader permitting team on complex and long-lead permits (e.g., federal land, state DOT, railroads, and other major agencies)  

·         Maintain accurate records of permit statuses, requirements, and jurisdictional standards  

·         Identify jurisdiction-specific requirements and ensure compliance with local regulations and standards  

·         Assist with general project coordination, including scheduling, communication, and documentation 

Required Qualifications 

·         2+ years of experience in permitting, GIS, utility coordination, or related field  

·         Familiarity with ROW permitting processes, especially for fiber or utility infrastructure  

·         Experience working with local municipalities, counties, or state agencies  

·         Working knowledge of GIS platforms (e.g., ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online/Enterprise)  

·         Strong organizational and project coordination skills  

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

Preferred Qualifications 

·         Experience in telecommunications or fiber optic infrastructure projects  

·         Familiarity with traffic control plan requirements and standards  

·         Experience coordinating or supporting long-lead or complex permits (e.g., DOT, federal, railroad)  

·         Understanding of construction drawings and engineering plans  

·         Experience tracking projects or permits using spreadsheets or project management tools
