Job Summary
The Regional Business Development Representative supports regional sales growth by developing new business opportunities, strengthening customer relationships, and expanding SEA's presence within an assigned territory.
The Regional Business Development Representative manages a smaller, more focused territory under the guidance of sales leadership and collaborates closely with Regional Business Development Managers, Territory Sales Managers, and supplier partners. This is a remote position with some travel required.
Key Responsibilities
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new sales opportunities within an assigned territory by prospecting new customers, supporting existing accounts, and developing long-term business relationships.
  • Sales Support: Assist Regional Business Development Managers with customer opportunities, strategic accounts, product introductions, and long-cycle sales initiatives.
  • Relationship Building: Develop relationships with customers, supplier representatives, and internal teams to understand customer needs and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Territory Management: Maintain regular contact with assigned accounts, schedule customer visits, document sales activities, and manage the sales pipeline within CRM tools.
  • Market Awareness: Monitor customer activity, industry trends, and competitive information to identify opportunities and communicate findings to management.
  • Product Knowledge Development: Build technical knowledge of SEA's products, manufacturers, and target markets while learning to recommend appropriate solutions for customer applications.
  • Internal Collaboration: Work closely with Customer Service, Purchasing, Product Management, and Sales teams to ensure timely responses and excellent customer support.

Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • Prior sales, customer service, or business development experience preferred.
  • Experience in the wire, cable, tubing, inventory management, or distribution industries preferred.
  • Possesses customer service skills.
  • Able to manage day-to-day activities and exercise independence and adaptability.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to effectively interact with a variety of personnel at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to meet prioritized set objectives and goals.
  • Displays a positive attitude and professional appearance.
  • Possesses customer service skills.
  • Able to manage day-to-day activities and exercise independence and adaptability.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to effectively interact with a variety of personnel at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to meet prioritized set objectives and goals.
  • Displays a positive attitude and professional appearance.
  • Comfortable learning technical products and applying product knowledge to customer needs.

Physical Requirements
  • This is primarily a sedentary position; however, occasional lifting of files or product samples, bending, and standing may be required.
  • Requires frequent travel (approximately 50% of work time).
