About the Role:
The Recon Specialist is responsible for technical support for account handling. The scope of the position includes the identification and timely completion of non-routine account functions, account review for appropriate inventory flow, addressing timeline issues, completion of reports and closing and returning accounts to client.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide accurate feedback and resolution to account inquiries raised by management, clients, or team members; provide constructive communication when correcting procedural errors
Accurately interpret specific account information to determine appropriate account handling Review multiple accounts and effectively communicate when special handling is required by a client
Runs reports to determine and correct account handling exceptions; analyzes and researches account handling to identify trends and procedural errors
Tie and untie accounts; reverse out statements and put corrected statements back on and reset accounts
Retain a working knowledge of multiple software systems as assigned by management or supervisory staff
Work independently and use trouble-shooting skills with little guidance or supervision Maintain professional demeanor when representing the Client’s Business Office when contacting patients to check status of unresolved claims; maintain professional demeanor when interacting with both external and internal parties
Follow established procedures to resolve patient account balances utilizing available technologies
Provide follow-up on suspended accounts according to established procedures Promptly respond to phone messages; promptly respond to client or patient concerns or problems
Perform PSR duties on as-needed basis
Conform to all confidentiality and third party liability laws
Ensure appropriate steps are taken so accounts receive due attention
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required
Experience with Microsoft Office software
Preferred Qualifications:
2 years of experience in customer service or healthcare office setting
Familiarity with medical billing cycles, processes and procedures
Experience with FACS software
Employment eligibility:
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
