Job Title

R&D Engineer IIProvides engineering support and technical guidance to material, product, and process development programs.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • With limited direction, conducts engineering experiments on new materials, products, processes and/or procedures.
  • Participates significantly in projects to optimize and improve existing materials, products, processes and/or procedures.
  • Contributes to project plan development, execution and reporting activities to support CoorsTek project management activities.
  • Devises basic research methods and documents results and procedures.
  • Operates process and test equipment with an understanding of functionality based on underlying engineering principles.
  • Exercises responsibility for specific pieces of processing and/or analytical equipment.
  • Works collaboratively with the Operations and Commercial sectors of the company.
  • Participates in the company’s safety culture and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Undertakes further training to improve skills.

Job Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, or related Physical Science or Engineering, and at least three years relevant experience;
  • Or: Masters degree in Materials Science, or related Physical Science or Engineering

Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Sound basic knowledge of mathematics, statistics, engineering science and ceramic processing.
  • Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organized, detail-oriented person necessary.
  • Team player.
  • Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds.

Position Specific Physical Requirements:

  • Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment in designated areas.

Must be able to lift 50lb.

Target Hiring Range

: USD 90,196.00 - USD 119,059.00
