Code and Theory is seeking a QA Manager to champion a quality-first culture and lead our automation strategy within professional services.

As a leader within our quality engineering team, you will ensure the excellence of our web experiences by advocating for high standards across engineering and design. You will be responsible for defining the vision of our automation initiatives, fostering a shift-left mindset, and guaranteeing software delivery that solves real-world challenges through strategic oversight.

You will build and nurture a culture of excellence, providing the mentorship and structure necessary to scale QA across the organization. Leading complex programs for Fortune 50/100 accounts, you will act as a strategic partner to our clients, ensuring our technical solutions support their KPIs and future-proof their platforms. You will manage and develop engineering teams to achieve these objectives.

You are a passionate advocate for quality, security, and accessibility, with a proven track record of driving continuous improvement and leading high-performing teams through contemporary methodologies.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Be a hands-on coach and mentor, guiding product teams to successfully test and deliver scalable, maintainable, and secure products to our customers
  • Manage a geographically dispersed team (India, Manila, LatAm) of engineers, adhering to regional HR policies and processes
  • Advocate for clean code, testing, process refinements, and continuous improvements
  • Conduct rigorous testing of user-focused responsive web and mobile applications, backend systems and infrastructure that support these experiences
  • Architect and implement robust automation frameworks, leveraging the latest tools, techniques and best practices.
  • Understand and define client requirements, driving strategic relationship development for the organization
  • Develop strategies with focus on application testability with a high degree of test automation
  • Use automation to track and analyze test results, working closely with engineers to isolate, reproduce, and correct defects
  • Be actively involved in release cycles by contributing to scope planning, test effort estimation, and release sign-off through automated processes
  • Manage a diverse, geographically dispersed team (India, Manila, LatAm) and promote a collaborative and inclusive environment

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • Strong shift-left testing mindset, proactively collaborating with developers, designers, and product managers to embed quality early in the development lifecycle
  • Strong test design and test case development, testing methodologies, planning, and execution of stories in an agile environment
  • Proficiency in Java, JavaScript, TypeScript or Python, with a focus on test framework and automation script development
  • Extensive experience in test automation, especially for responsive web, mobile, and custom applications
  • Hands-on experience with frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Katalon, and Robot Framework
  • Experience with Ai product testing, tool usage to enhance test processes like test cases generation and script development is highly desirable
  • Solid experience with unit testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha, PHP Unit, JUnit), load testing tools (JMeter, Blazemeter, ab, siege), API testing tools (Restassured, Postman), and continuous integration tools (Jenkins, CircleCI, Travis, GitHub Actions)
  • Passion for web accessibility and security, with knowledge of the latest WCAG 2.1 AA+ guidelines and standards, ensuring these aspects are automated in testing processes
  • Compelling and clear communication skills, with the ability to explain the full possibilities of the tech stack/architecture and represent your team to internal and external audiences with differing levels of technical fluency
  • Exposure to working and responding to RFP/RFI requirements for global customers, effort estimation, and scope prioritization through automated processes
  • Product evangelism and deep curiosity about technology trends to optimize ways of working and toolsets
  • Self-motivation and focus on achieving excellence as a team by building a culture of quality to grow and maintain the Quality Engineering Community

The target range of base compensation for this role is $150,000-$185,000. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.
