ABOUT THE JOB

We are seeking a Quality Engineer to join our growing team in Fort Collins, CO. You will work inside and outside the organization to define, develop, and execute processes to ensure the delivery of high quality, reliable and performant radar products to end customers.  You will help drive Anduril's internal quality management system to meet AS9100 requirements.  You will partner across the product development organization, production organization, and field operations organizations to continuously improve product quality at the various lifecycle phases of the product through the use of root cause analyses, corrective actions, and failure analyses.  This role will be dynamic and full of new engagement, challenges and opportunities.  If you are someone who has passion for the quality of their work, enjoys hands-on engagement with design engineering, production and vendors, possesses strong analytical skills and attention to detail, then this opportunity is for you! WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Partner across development, manufacturing and supply chain to execute on quality initiatives in product design, manufacturing, supplier quality, deployment, and field support in order to improve reliability across the product lifecycle. 
  • Define, develop and implement inspection processes for key characteristics and critical items associated with the product on components ranging from PCBAs, wire and cable harnesses, gasket seals, and machined parts and structures.
  • Owns calibration of assets and procedure, reviews engineering drawings, manufacturing & inspection work instructions to establish and maintain robust product and process quality.
  • Support Quality Management System compliance & sustainability to the AS9100 certification, while supporting the continuous improvement of required documentation and related activities.
  • Work cross-functionally to define and execute the product roadmap, partnering with production to ensure incoming material inspection, process control plans and end of line tests capture the essential quality requirements for successful customer shipments.
  • Develop and utilize a data driven approach to evaluating, prioritizing and tracking product quality & reliability (suppliers, manufacturing & field).  Support customer quality issues and refurbishment testing and quality control.
  • Lead Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations both internally and with suppliers.  Review the effectiveness of actions and share lessons learned across the product team.
  • Lead Material Review Board (MRB) activities and ensure successful disposition of discrepant material.
  • Contribute to the evaluation, selection, qualification and performance of suppliers
  • Carry out containment, audit, and disposition actions of any quality “escapes” or defective material
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar technical field
  • 5+ years of relevant experience working with OEM suppliers and manufacturing operations building complex hardware/software systems
  • 5+ years experience in engineering, manufacturing, or quality within the aerospace/defense, automotive, or medical device fields
  • Experience working in a ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 regulated environment
  • Working knowledge of product development methodologies such as Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Change Management, and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Hands on experience using mechanical and electrical metrology tools/instruments
  • Working knowledge of electro-mechanical design and relevant manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with ESS testing of complex electromechanical products
  • A strong ownership mindset with demonstrated capability as a project manager to drive projects from start to finish.
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master’s degree in a technical field
  • Experience with IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards
  • Experience with RF electronics and testing
  • Experience as a lead auditor for AS9100 or other ISO 9001-based QMS standard (e.g., ISO 13485, IATF 16949).
  • Experience with high mix low volume manufacturing and suppliers
  • Experience with statistical process control techniques and methodologies
  • Working knowledge of probability distributions and reliability test methodologies (HASS, HALT, ALT, etc)
  • Experience with Teamcenter, SolidWorks, Oracle/Netsuite, Jira, Tableau, Foundry, Altium, etc.
 
US Salary Range
$98,000$129,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers; and are considered part of Anduril's total compensation package.
