The Gogo Business Aviation Quality Engineer is a key link in the quality of our operations and, in turn, the quality of our product. The supplier quality engineer will oversee the overall health of the supply chain by monitoring performance, identifying top trending issues and/or vendors, and working alongside internal and external teams to resolve the issues. Additionally, this function will manage and maintain all vendors in accordance with AS9100 and internal requirements. The ideal candidate understands data analytic techniques, has an ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, can be innovative and collaborative in their approach to problem solving, and has previous engineering experience in the aerospace and/or aviation industry. This role will travel ~30% domestically and internationally to support supply chain quality.

HOW WILL YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Work with manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, customer support, and program management to identify and resolve quality-related issues

  • Collaborate with the Manufacturing Engineering, Test Engineering, Failure Analysis, Operations, and NPI teams on product yield and reliability performance roadmaps during the product development cycle

  • Assist with conducting First Article Inspections, Supplier and Conformity Inspections

  • With cross functional teams, determine business impact level for quality issues

  • Develop process improvement plans using a variety of Quality and Continuous Process Improvement tools, including but not limited to Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, SPC, engineering studies, DOE, Gauge R&R, etc., to enhance overall quality

  • Support MRB timely material management and Non-Conformance closure

  • Manage tool and equipment calibration program

  • Perform containment and root cause analysis with cross functional teams on issues pertaining to the manufacturing floor

  • Ensure product conforms to drawing, specification, regulatory, and quality standards

  • Strengthen the Quality Management System by ensuring documentation/records and related processes are adhered to and maintained

  • Participate in ISO 9001/AS9100, FAA, Customer, and Internal audits, supporting corrective action resolution as required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Technical discipline

  • 2-4 years of relevant Operations or Quality experience

  • Ability to travel up to ~10% (domestic and international)

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Experience

  • Practical experience with manufacturing methods, preferably in electronics manufacturing

  • Knowledge and ability to interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)

  • Proficient in statistical analysis methods including Proportions tests, T-tests, and Gage R&R’s

  • Skilled in practical understanding and application of risk analysis techniques including Design Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and Process Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (PFMEA)

  • Proven ability to use basic data analysis tools including Excel and Word

  • Ability to quickly learn and develop new processes

  • Demonstrated practical experience in effectively leading others through structured problem-solving exercises.

  • Self-driven to achieve defined goals and metrics, requiring minimal supervision.

  • Effective teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Exceptional analytical, problem solving & root-cause analysis skills

  • Ability to multi-task & handle tasks with competing priorities effectively

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Experience

  • Lean Six Sigma certification or Demonstrated understanding of continuous quality / process improvement tools

  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)

  • Understanding of practical application of Cost of Quality model & driving metrics to reduce cost of poor quality integrated with practical experience in an ISO 9001/AS9100 based Quality Management System

  • Familiarity with Agile PLM, Unipoint, and Navision for data documentation in Non-Conformances, Corrective Action Requests, Engineering Change Requests, and general ERP system navigation.

  • Management of a site calibration program

  • Experience leading and implementing change

  • Experience performing internal audits and participating in external audits

  • Certified AS9100 lead auditor

  • Experience working in a company that has implemented and maintains a certified ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management System

Equal Pay Disclosure(s)

Base Pay:

72,000.00 - 90,000.00 USD Annual

Target Annual Short-Term Incentive:

Bonus Plan at 5% (% of Annualized Base Pay)
