About the RoleThe Software Quality Engineer II role involves ensuring the quality and reliability of software products through comprehensive quality assurance practices. This position requires a solid understanding of all stages of the software development lifecycle and the ability to apply software assurance standards in various contexts. The role includes assisting with test case design, performing integrated testing, and overseeing the software assurance process during requirements verification, certification, and customer and supplier oversight.
In this role, you will participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and analysis to design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. You will apply software assurance standards in a software development or recurring program context and assist the test team with test case design, including integrated testing, edge cases, boundary tests, negative tests, ad hoc cases, and worst-case scenarios. Additionally, you will perform requirements verification and ensure traceability throughout the development process while overseeing the software assurance process during certification and customer and supplier oversight. You will track and report software defects, working with development teams to resolve issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure software quality throughout the development lifecycle. Furthermore, you will provide clear verbal and written communication of quality assurance activities and findings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the quality assurance process.About You

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Requires Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree).
  • Typically 2+ years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of all stages of the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and analysis, through design and implementation, to testing and maintenance.
  • Understanding of the requirements of software assurance standards and how to apply them in a software development or recurring program context.
  • Ability to assist the test team with test case design.
  • Experience with integrated testing, edge cases, boundary tests, negative tests, ad hoc cases, and worst-case scenarios.
  • Knowledge of the software assurance process during requirements verification, certification, and customer and supplier oversight.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with software testing tools and frameworks.
  • Proficiency in programming languages and scripting.
  • Understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes quickly.
  • Experience with automated testing tools and techniques.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to software quality assurance.


Compensation:

Pay Range:

$108,747.00 - $149,549.25

Your actual base compensation will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, experience, internal equity and market competitiveness.
