Location:  Remote Work From Home
Duration:  TBD but will start part time growing to full time until the migration is completed
Experience:  Consultant / Architect Level
Start Date:  April 21, 2025

Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced and hands-on IT Architect to assist our client in migrating their current NetApp SolidFire storage environment to PURE Storage using Cirrus Data Solutions' Cirrus Migrate Cloud.
The Architect will play a dual role: first, providing pre-sales advisory support to validate the opportunity and scope the migration, and then leading the hands-on execution of the migration.

This role demands deep expertise in storage migrations, real-world experience with Cirrus Migrate Cloud (or comparable tooling), and strong Pure Storage optimization skills.

Responsibilities:Pre-Sales and Planning Phase
  • Engage with the client’s technical teams and leadership to analyze and confirm the migration opportunity.

  • Conduct a storage environment assessment to validate Cirrus Migrate Cloud as the appropriate migration tool.

  • Provide recommendations on architecture, migration planning, risk mitigation, and timeline estimation.

  • Develop a detailed migration strategy, design, and runbook for the project.

Migration Execution Phase
  • Lead and execute the end-to-end migration from NetApp SolidFire to Pure Storage using Cirrus Migrate Cloud.

  • Maintain hands-on-keyboard ownership throughout the migration process.

  • Proactively mitigate, troubleshoot, and remediate any errors, performance issues, or unexpected behaviors during the migration.

  • Monitor and report migration status, escalate issues appropriately, and ensure zero/minimal downtime for critical services.

Post-Migration Optimization
  • Tune and optimize the Pure Storage environment for maximum performance, reliability, and efficiency.

  • Implement best practices for Pure Storage array configuration, workload placement, QoS, and data reduction technologies.

  • Deliver comprehensive documentation and knowledge transfer to client operations staff.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of experience as a Storage Architect with a focus on large-scale enterprise storage environments.

  • Deep experience migrating NetApp SolidFire environments.

  • Strong hands-on expertise with Pure Storage (FlashArray, FlashBlade experience is a plus).

  • Direct experience with Cirrus Data Solutions products, preferably Cirrus Migrate Cloud.

  • Expertise in storage networking, block-level migrations, and replication technologies.

  • Skilled in troubleshooting storage performance and availability issues.

  • Excellent communication skills for both technical and executive audiences.

  • Ability to create clear, professional technical documentation.

  • Comfortable working independently while keeping multiple stakeholders informed.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Pure Storage certifications (e.g., PCSA, PCSE) strongly preferred.

  • Prior experience with cloud-connected storage migrations.

  • Experience tuning Pure Storage features like Purity OS, QoS policies, Data Reduction (compression/deduplication).

Personal Attributes:
  • Solutions-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.

  • Proactive communicator who escalates issues early.

  • Strong attention to detail and a drive for delivering high-quality work.

  • Collaborative and customer-focused.
