The Prototype Development Engineer is responsible for prototype engineering, creating and assembling components, operating machinery, and improving processes.
Job Description:
Required Qualifications
- Prototype Engineering and creation
- Prototype process definition for small build quantities
- Initially support lead DE in hands-on fabrication tasks.
- Prepare materials and assemble components for production line.
- Load and unload WIP from tools.
- Load and unload tools from machines.
- Operation of specialized machinery that requires manual skills (ie. sewing machine)
- Provide process and tooling improvement feedback to DE.
Required Qualifications
- Designer or maker with prior hands-on fabrication experience.
- Knowledge of textiles, films, synthetics, leather, adhesives, etc.
- Team-oriented individual who is willing to contribute beyond defined responsibilities.
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Design preferred
