An Insider's view of TruU, Inc.

What's something quirky about your company?

One of the most positive things about TruU is how everyone is motivated and purposeful. That’s real pleasure to work with such believers! There's a real mission we can all get behind that makes the work all the more meaningful. Another quirky thing is we are Denver-based but highly tied into Silicon Valley networks.

What does your typical day look like?

Drive to the office, parking is easy. Specialty coffee for the team and the day is getting started. You code the solution that came to you the night before. Daily standup. Everyone leaves the meeting energized and jumps into their sprint goals. Impromptu whiteboard sessions for quick problem-solving. Lunch time team walk to the Highlands for tacos.

How has your career grown since starting at the company?

As the UX designer, I work closely with both the engineering and the data science team to create innovative product solutions. I am constantly amazed at the team’s commitment to cross-functional collaboration. Together, it is fun to explore the possibilities and turn dreams into reality.

Tracey Morris

Lead UX Designer

How do you make yourself accessible to the rest of the team?

Our organization is incredibly flat and cross functional. Executives are easily accessible and attend the daily virtual stand-ups and share strategic updates. We have a doer culture that checks big egos at the door. We use a modern stack including Slack, Jira, Confluence and Asana to stay in sync and foster collaboration in different departments.

Horacio Zambrano

Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer

How do you empower your team to be more creative?

Empowerment is not a statement of lip service; it is a way of being. We set challenging vision and goals, where team members are expected to drive solutions for the success of the company. We do what needs to be done and ask forgiveness later. Conflict, disagreement and debate of ideas are welcome and encouraged with a commitment to the path.
