Job Description SummaryThe Project Technical Manager in the Projects Coordination Office (PCO) will project manage the planning, coordination, and execution of project contractual technical deliverables as well as installation and commissioning work packages for large-scale, cross-business energy projects spanning Power, Electrification, and Renewables segments in close partnership with Consulting Services and Business Unit engineering teams. This role will project manage technical interfaces (DOR) between business units, product lines, and EPC partners to ensure system compatibility and alignment with contractual commitments and reference architecture. The position requires deep technical expertise, proven field leadership, and the ability to project manage interfaces across multiple technology domains and business units during the entire lifecyle of project execution.

Job Description

Essential Functions (Responsibilities):  

  • Planning, coordination, and execution of project contractual technical documents including installation and commissioning work packages for cross-business energy projects.
  • Issue Resolution & Escalation – Coordinate rapid resolution of cross-business interface issues encountered during installation and commissioning, engaging Consulting Services and BU engineering teams as needed through management of the enterprise level Risk Register.
  • Cross-Business Collaboration – Project manage technical interfaces (DOR) between business units, product lines, and EPC partners to ensure system compatibility and alignment with contractual commitments and reference architecture.
  • Technical Schedule Management – Develop and maintain the overall technical execution plan across Business Units, resource allocation, and schedule tracking.
  • Drive PCO Process Rigor – Standardization of technical processes, tools, and templates across the enterprise to improve efficiency, quality, and knowledge sharing
  • Commissioning Planning – Develop and maintain Level 1 and Level 2 commissioning execution plans, schedules, resource allocations, and readiness checklists working with the Planning Manager for Integrated Projects.
  • Drive adherence to the Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost standards of GE Vernova business units as well as the customer’s contractual requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Power Systems Engineering.
  • 10+ years of relevant engineering experience in the power generation or energy sector, with exposure to enterprise-level or multi-business projects.
  • Proven track record in cross-functional collaboration and integrated system design.
  • Strong understanding of power generation technologies, energy storage systems, and grid interconnection requirements.
  • Familiarity with industry standards, codes, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience managing multi-discipline teams in global, matrixed organizations
     

Desired

  • Master’s degree in engineering and/or MBA
  • Strong team player with interpersonal, communication, influencing and team building skills.
  • Proven record of success working in a multicultural, regional, cross functional team.
  • Strong understanding of project business cases, encompassing impacts as project objectives, risks, opportunities, and performance metrics.
  • Strong analytical skills used for identification, assessment, analysis and management of project risks/opportunities.

The starting base pay range for this position is $145,000.00 to $193,000.00 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 15% bonus This posting is expected to remain open until at least September 30th, 2025.
