About the Role
The Project Manager, Senior Living (CapEx) is responsible for the ongoing management of construction projects across our portfolio. The Project Manager will work closely with the Director, Senior Living (CapEx) and Manager, Senior Living (CapEx) to ensure the execution of capital projects in support of Ventas’ long-term capital investment strategy. Key responsibilities include:
Work closely with designers, project managers, and contractors to solicit proposals, evaluate them, and make recommendations for selection
Manage the execution process and coordinate stakeholders (operator, designer, consultants) on large investment front of house and back of the house projects
Work closely with CapEx consultants to manage accuracy of project timing and spend
Run weekly or bi-weekly internal update calls
Attend weekly Owner, Architect, Designer calls across all larger investment projects
Identify general contractors, prepare bid forms, solicit bids, prepare comparisons, and recommend selections
Visit job sites weekly, when feasible, depending on project scope and status
Work with team to create investment strategy for new acquisitions and NNN transitions
Coordinate and communicate with design and construction teams
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, real estate, or a related field
5+ years of experience in project management in real estate, construction, or development
Willingness to work extended hours and travel frequently, sometimes with limited notice
Experience working with an owner/developer, general contractor, or a related entity—preferably in the healthcare industry
Familiarity with senior housing, hospitals, nursing facilities, and congregate care is preferred
Strong analytical skills and independent decision-making ability
Ability to manage deadlines, multiple tasks, and shifting priorities in a fast-paced, lean environment
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without need for employer sponsorship now or in the future
The estimated base salary range for this position is $130,000 - $185,000 per year. This range reflects a good-faith estimate of the base salary Ventas reasonably expects to pay at the time of posting. Actual base pay will be determined based on work location, skills, qualifications, relevant experience, and business needs.
In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for discretionary incentive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, which includes medical, dental, vision, retirement savings, paid time off, and other wellness benefits under applicable plan terms.
