PROJECT FINANCE MANAGER
Renewable Properties is seeking to bring on a talented Project Finance Manager to oversee the financing of solar projects across the United States and be a main point of contact on the team’s structured and project finance activities. The Project Finance Manager is a dynamic and key role, working with various banks, financial institutions, capital providers, partners and team members. The Project Finance Manager will be responsible for interfacing with investors and lenders during this exciting time of rapid growth at Renewable Properties. The ideal candidate is a seasoned Project Finance professional with ample experience leading and closing transactions. They must have excellent commercial and negotiation skills with a proven track record of successful PV and/or BESS project finance transactions and be familiar with tax equity structures. This is a unique opportunity to lead all aspects of the deal closing process and help drive impact and growth within the solar industry.
Responsibilities:
- Interface with debt and tax equity investors in the solar and BESS space - source, negotiate and close tax equity and loan commitments.
- Lead finance transactions from structuring through close, including negotiations, due diligence, financial modeling, and analysis of financing options.
- Build, manage, and diligence complex financial models to support project financing, M&A evaluations, and investor presentations.
- Work with existing capital providers to effectively structure the capitalization of solar and BESS assets.
- Develop and maintain successful relationships with financing parties, including tax equity investors, lenders, & internal partners.
- Lead or assist on evaluating M&A opportunities and supporting Purchase and Sale Opportunities
- Manage corporate finance compliance requirements including budgets, cash flow forecasts and other quarterly reporting requirements.
Stay current on industry trends, tax incentives, and regulatory developments impacting solar and BESS financing structures.
Requirements:
- 7+ years experience in solar and/or energy project finance, renewable energy or banking.
- Demonstrated ability to independently lead, negotiate, and close debt and tax equity transactions with minimal oversight.
- Expertise with the solar and/or BESS development process, capital requirements and various tax equity structures such as a Partnership Flip.
- Active network and relationships with tax equity and debt providers in the solar space.
- Expertise in financial modeling (cash flow forecasting, scenario analysis, risk/return), and managing financial documentation, due diligence, and commercial negotiations.
- Ability to flawlessly manage the financial process and communicate effectively while coordinating with external and internal parties.
- Strong understanding of tax regulations, GAAP principles, and their application to project finance structures.
