YOUR MISSION
We are looking for a data-driven Project Engineer, Data Analysis to serve in the Program Management Office (PMO) and own the metrics, dashboards, and reporting infrastructure that power decision-making across our portfolio of programs. In this role, you will transform complex programmatic and engineering data into clear, actionable insights through Power BI and other analytics tools. You will partner closely with Engineering, Finance, Operations, and Program Management to define KPIs, build scalable reporting solutions, and drive a culture of data-informed execution. The ideal candidate blends a strong space program background with hands-on expertise in data visualization and business intelligence.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade Power BI dashboards and reports that provide real-time visibility into program health, cost, schedule, and technical performance.
- Define and standardize KPIs and metrics in collaboration with Program Managers, Systems Engineers, and functional leads to ensure consistent measurement across programs.
- Integrate data from disparate sources (cost accounting systems, ERP, schedule tools, engineering databases) into unified, reliable reporting pipelines.
- Translate complex technical and programmatic data into clear visualizations and narratives for stakeholders at all levels, from engineers to executive leadership.
- Own the PMO reporting cadence — produce weekly, monthly, and milestone-driven reports on program status, resource utilization, budget burn, and risk posture.
- Conduct root cause analysis using data to identify schedule slips, cost variances, and technical anomalies, and work with the Engineering team to drive corrective action.
- Develop and enforce data governance standards, including data definitions, dashboard versioning, and documentation to ensure accuracy and repeatability.
- Identify programmatic and technical risks through trend analysis and predictive metrics, and support the development of robust mitigation strategies.
- Evaluate and improve existing reporting tools and templates, driving continuous refinement of PMO data infrastructure and processes.
- Support subcontract and vendor performance tracking by building supplier scorecards and delivery metrics dashboards.
- Serve as the data liaison between design, manufacturing, quality assurance, finance, and operations teams, ensuring cross-functional alignment on reported data.
- Facilitate a culture of continuous improvement by championing data literacy and self-service analytics across the organization.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in project engineering, program management, or systems integration within a high-tech or aerospace environment, with a strong focus on metrics and data analysis.
- Demonstrated hands-on proficiency with Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, report/dashboard development, and publishing to the Power BI Service.
- Proven ability to integrate and transform data from multiple sources (e.g., Excel, SQL databases, ERP/cost systems) into coherent reporting solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data and technical concepts into clear insights for non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and adapt to rapidly changing program priorities.
- Ability to work within a cross-functional, geographically dispersed team environment.
- Eligible for Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance.
- Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior relevant experience; or, Graduate Degree and a minimum of 5 year of prior experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience defining and tracking cost, schedule, or technical performance baselines for aerospace, engineering, or software development programs.
- Advanced Power BI skills including Row-Level Security (RLS), paginated reports, and Power BI Embedded.
- Experience with complementary tools such as Microsoft Azure Data Factory, Power Automate, or SQL Server for data pipeline development.
- Proficiency with the broader Microsoft Office and Atlassian suite in a program management context.
- Experience with customer-facing reporting for National Security aerospace programs.
- Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM) and the ability to build EVM dashboards and variance analysis reports.
- Experience establishing templates, tools, and guidelines for program documentation and data governance.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001:2000 compliance and the ability to incorporate quality metrics into reporting frameworks.
- Active TS/SCI U.S. government security clearance with SCI eligibility strongly preferred.
